Shivam Pandit 7 years, 6 months ago

The reason for spherical Shape of the earth is phenomenon of surface tension

Aviral Upadhyay 7 years, 6 months ago

On Earth mass is unevenly distributed.so where the concentration of mass is more the gravitationsl pull is more on that region creating bumps .There is many more explanations for the spheroid shape of earth.

Smallest size is that of Li+, followed by F-. Na and Cl :both lie in third period and Na has larger size than Cl, but when we talk about ions, then Na+ is smaller than Cl-. This is because of inter electronic repulsion in Cl- and increase in effective nuclear charge in Na+.

It is a 3d shape . In chemistry it may refer to chemical bonding . Tetrahedral geometry means all bonds are symmetric w.r.t. each other eg in CH4 . If you are able to view a molecular bond towards you then you rotate it by 109° to move the other bond towards you the orientation of the bonds still look the same in both cases having same symmetry . Ncert class 11 book has a good diagram on it in chemical bonding chapter. Though viewing a tetrahedron on the internet will give a clearer view on it.
