Hence they exist as gases. Hardly there exists weak Van der Waals forces between like particles, and it depends upon the nuclear charge of the atom. Therefore they have low melting and boiling point and thus exist in gaseous form at room temperature. so they form gas and molecules stay far away .

First of all find the total no. Of sigma bond and total ni. Of loan pair of hybridised atom. Then find out the sum. Whatever the sum is found distribute in the orbitals. e.g.,- if the sum is 3 then hyb. Is sp2 ,if the sum is 4 hyb. Is sp3 ,if sum is 5 then hyb. Is sp3d...and so on.
