Tert-alcohols form stable tertiary carbocation intermediates. These are more stable than primary or secondary due to the inductive effect(+I effect of alkyl groups). They generally come from alcohols with alkyl groups attached, so these groups tend to 'break off' more easily, hence a more reactive molecule

The hydogens in chloroform get bonded (hydogen bonding)to the oxygen of the carbonyl group of acetone , so both of the compounds are associated with hydrogen bonding which decreases the capacity of their escaping , thus forming less vapour ,--- exerting less vapour pressure than what is expected from pure indivisaul compunds in Raults law.

Because in solid state ions are not free to move due to electrostactic force of attraction between the constituents particles While I molten state ions are free to move so they conduct electricity

Rakshit Negi 7 years, 1 month ago

because in molten state or aquous state they have free ions and thus they conduct electricity while in solid state...they are electrical insulator due to absense of free ions.

This observation of Hardy and Schulze are known as Hardy Schulze law. It can be defined as: Greater is the valency of the oppositely charged ion of the electrolyte being added, the faster is the coagulation. The idea behind this is the attractive electrostatic forces between ions of opposite charges.
