Ethyl iodide is prepared by using red phosphorus, absolute alcohol and iodine. the iodine dissolve in the alcohol where it react with the solid phosphorus to form phosphorus triiodide, which must be formed in situ because it is unstable. During the process the temperature is controlled.

In methane if you carefully look at the structure then you will observe that carbon is bonded to the same element from all sides. Hydrogen molecule cancel out the dipole moment of each. ( I just explained it don't write for your exam)

In ph3 there is presence of lone pair which causes repulsion between bond pair and lone pair increasing the bond angle. In ph4+ bond angle is smaller due to no lone pair and repulsion between bond pair-bond pair is less than lone pair- bond pair.
