When dialysis is prolonged the traces of electrolyte which stabilies the colloids are removed completely. This makes the colloid unstable and therefore coagulation takes place. To increase the stability of colloids a small amount of electrolyte is added. on persistent dialysis the electrolyte is almost removed.so the colloidal sol will coagulate.

Adding ethylene glycol to water reduces the freezing point of water. Water freezes at temperatures much less than 0 degree Celsius when ethylene glycol is added to it. It is used as an anti-freeze. This practice was mostly practiced in older radiators in cold weather conditions.

Permanganate requires low pH, or presence of strong acid. Best results can be obtained when permanganate is used for titration in combination with sulfuric acid. In the hydrochloric acid permanganate can be able to oxidize chlorides to chlorine, which can be a source of positive errors

It is a for the concentration of sulphide ores.In this process we use powderd suplhide ores and to it we add froth stabalizers(aniline) and collector(pine oil or xanthates). The principle behind this process is the collectors increases the non wetability factor of ores and gaunge particles get wet by water. A paddle connected to it draws aor in the froth and aggitates the mixture such that the froth comes up and skimmed out whereas gaunge particles settles down in the water. You can also give example which is given in the textbook last paragraph of froth flotation topic(ZnS and PbS). :)

The group 15 elements (nitrogen, phosphorus, arsenic, antimony and bismuth) when reacted with halogen atom ,tend to form halides. The halides formed are of two types:
1) Trihalides (MX3)
2) Pentahalides (MX5) where M -15TH group element X- halogen atom
The trihalides are formed by all the elements of group 15 while pentahalides are formed by all the elements except nitrogen because there is absence of vacant d- orbital in its outermost shell.
The oxidation state of +5 in pentahalides is more as compared to +3 oxidation state in trihalides. Due to the higher positive oxidation state of central atom in pentahalide state, these atoms will have larger polarizing power than the halogen atom attached to them. The central atom in pentahalide state will tend to polarize more the halide ion to which it is attached.
But In case of trihalides due to +3 oxidation state the central atom will polarize the halogen atom to a lesser extent as compared to pentahalide state. Therefore, more the polarization, larger will be the covalent character of the bond.
Hence due larger polarization of bond in pentahalide state as compared to trihalide state, the pentahalides are more covalent than trihalides.

Condensation is the change of physical state of matter from gaseous phase into liquid phase. It is a process in which water vapor (gaseous form) in the air changes into liquid water when it touches a cooler surface. When water in the air comes in contact with a cold surface, it condenses to form water droplets. This phenomenon is known as condensation. The reverse of condensation is evaporation.
