Refractive index of a solid is observed to have the same value along all directions indicates that it is isotropic in nature thus it must be an amorphous solid. Amorphous solids do not undergo clean clevage so, this solid will also not undergo sharp cleavage.

If the reaction is endothermic the reaction process time would be minimised whereas if it's a exothermic reaction the time in reaction would eventually increase....in gernal scenario it's said as temperature is directly proportional to the rate of change of reaction but throughly it's not completely true

Bhumika Agrawal 3 years, 2 months ago

In endothermic the rate of reaction will increase. In exothermic the rate of reaction will decrease

It means the maximum volume is occupied by atoms or molecules in a unit cell

Manpreet Kaur 3 years, 3 months ago

It is the fraction of the crystal (or unit cell) actually occupied by atoms . It must always be less than 100% because it is impossible to pack spheres without having some empty spaces between them.

Vidhi Kamboj 3 years, 2 months ago

Due to smaller size and lone pair repulsion in the oxygen atom, it is not able to show catenation property while sulphur due it's larger size than oxygen and less repulsion between lone paire due to distance between them , it can exist as S8 in nature and hence shows catenation property.

Bharaman Jha 3 years, 3 months ago

Elctronegativity is one of the cause

Shashank 11 3 years, 3 months ago

Because oxygen is more electronegative than sulphur due to which repulsion b/w oxygen molecules is high..

As we go down the group of halides the tendency to lose hydrogen increases. Therefore acidity increases.

Akash Soni 3 years, 3 months ago

Becacuse in H2O H bond occurs which make them strong bond so bond doesn't dissociate easily and not give H+ In H2S H bond not occur so easily dessociate to give H+. H2O is not neutral it is weak acidic
