Yogita Ingle 5 years, 11 months ago

A nucleophile is a compound which donates electron pair to electron deficient species.
Nitrogen in amines have a lone pair of electrons which they can donate , that is why they act as nucleophile.

Vivek Shekhawat 5 years, 11 months ago

in physiosorption the molecules are bonded with weak vanderwaal forces so the increase in temperature leads to the breakage of bonds so physiosorption decrease with increase in temperature whereas in chemisorption there are chemical bonds so the energy gain by increase in temperature is first utilised in forming the bonds further increase in temperature, the kinetic energy increases nd molecules start leaving the surface so chemisorption first decrease nd then increase with increase in temperature

Connection By alpha linkage By beta linkage
Digestion Easily digested Difficult to digest
Solubility Dissolves in warm water Does not dissolve in water
Strength Weaker than cellulose Strong
Crystalline Less crystalline More crystalline than starch
Consumption Can be consumed by humans Cannot be consumed by humans
Linkage Starch has alpha 1,4 linkage Cellulose has beta 1,4 linkage
Uses Plants use starch to store energy Plants use cellulose to support structure

Coupling reaction Formation of orange dye in phenol

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 11 months ago

Phenol and benzoic acid can be distinguished by ferric chloride test.

Ferric chloride test:

Phenol reacts with neutral FeCl3 to form an iron-phenol complex giving violet colouration.

6C6H5OH + FeCl3 →[Fe(OC6H5)6]3- + 3H+ + 3 Cl-

But benzoic acid reacts with neutral FeCl3 to give a buff coloured ppt. of ferric benzoate.

3C6H5OH + FeCl3 → (C6H5COO)3Fe + 3 HCl

Sukirti Sharma 5 years, 11 months ago

ferric chloride test phenol give violet color ppt with FeCl3 whereas benzoic acid give buff color ppt with FeCl3
