Purified DNA from a cell can be obtained by first of all taking the DNA and then dissolving all its components like protein components by addition of protein and then putting it in alcohol chilled alcohol and then the DNA gets separated out.........????

In meselson's and stahl's experiment what happened was they took dna from a cell and then they placed it into HEAVY nitrogen (atomic mass 14). When the nitrogen(heavy) was incoorporated into the dna (nitrogen is taken bcoz it is a component of dna) it was kept in light nitrogen (atomic mass 12). Then through centifugation the fragments were separated and furthur a hybrid was formed which was between a heavy strand (containing heavy N) and light strand (containing light N). After every 20 min it divided and that heavy band was incorpoorated into the dna this was the proof that proved the semiconservative nature of the DNA.!
