Histones are primarily made up of the amino acids Lysine and Arginine. These amino acids that make up the histones (arginine and lysine) have a positive charge due to the nitrogen group of their chemistry. DNA is able to bind to the histones because DNA has a negative charge due to their phosphates. Histones contain a large proportion of the positively charged (basic) amino acids, lysine and arginine in their structure. DNA is negatively charged due to the phosphate groups on its backbone. These result of these opposite charges is a strong attraction and therefore high binding affinity between histones and DNA.

DNA fingerprinting

  • The process of comparison of DNA from different sources to establish the identity is called DNA fingerprinting.
  • DNA fingerprinting involves identifying differences in some specific regions in DNA sequence called as repetitive DNA.
  • Repetitive DNA are separated from bulk genomic DNA as different peaks during density gradient centrifugation.
  • The bulk DNA forms a major peak and the other small peaks are referred to as satellite DNA.
  • Satellite DNA is of two types based on base composition, length of segment, and number of repetitive units
  • micro-satellites
  • mini-satellites

The embryonic stage of human development lasts from the time of implantation of the blastocyst in the uterus (around the end of the first week after fertilization) until the end of the eighth week after fertilization. ... In this process, the two-layered embryonic disc develops a third cell layer and a primitive gut. Embryonic development starts with the fertilization of the egg cell (ovum) by a sperm cell, (spermatozoon). ... The zygote undergoes mitotic divisions with no significant growth (a process known as cleavage) and cellular differentiation, leading to development of a multicellular embryo. For a lot of people, the first sign of pregnancy is a missed period. ... Other early pregnancy symptoms include feeling tired, feeling bloated, peeing more than usual, mood swings, nausea, and tender or swollen breasts. Not everyone has all of these symptoms, but it's common to have at least 1 of them. The heart is the first organ to form during development of the body. When an embryo is made up of only a very few cells, each cell can get the nutrients it needs directly from its surroundings.

Improved medical facilities. Increased post natal care. More opportunities for career

K@Łp@N@ $Øđh!?? 6 years, 5 months ago

Various social factors are contributing towards high birth rate in India. Social factors such as universality of marriage, early marriage, illiteracy, religious and social superstitions, joint family system and lack of family planning are highly responsible for this high rate of growth of population in India.

Sia ? 6 years, 5 months ago

Reason for population explosion-

  1. Better medical facilities- Better medical facilities have resulted in fall of death rate.
  2. Lack of education and awareness- This is a major factor since people become prey to ignorance
  3. Religion- For some people, family planning is against the norms set by their religion.
  4. Control over epidemics- Various medical technologies has made it possible to fight against epidemics.
  5. Sanitary conditions- There is a lot of improvement in sanitary conditions which led to increase in population.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 5 months ago

  1. Rise in birth rate: There has been an increase in the birth rate because of many reasons such as poverty, illiteracy, improved medical facilities, religious and social beliefs and early marriage.
  2. Decline in death rate: This has been one of the fundamental causes of overpopulation. It is due to advancements in medicine; better control and management of diseases, famines and epidemics; improvement in the public health and sanitation techniques; spread of education; decline in killer diseases and immunisation programmes initiated by the government.
  3. Migration: Inhabitants from various parts of the world migrate to different countries at different times and settle over there. This makes the country overly populated.
  4. Lack of education: It is another important cause of overpopulation. Uneducated people do not understand the harmful effects of overpopulation and thus do not find the need to prevent the excessive growth of population.
