1. All the non zero digits are significant. 2. All the zeros between two non zero digits are significant. 3. All the zeros to the left offirst non zero digitare not significant. 4. All the zeros to the right of the last non zero digit are not significant. 5. All the zeros to the right of the decimal point and to the left of a non zero digit are not significant. 6. All the zeros to the right of last non zero digit in a no. with a decimal point are significant. 7. When a no. is expressed in exponential form the exponential term doesn't affect the no. of significant figure.
