Significant figures. Whenever you make a measurement, the number of meaningful digits that you write down implies the error in the measurement. For example if you say that the length of an object is 0.428 m, you imply an uncertainty of about 0.001 m

Vector addition is the operation of adding two or more vectors together into a vector sum. The so-called parallelogram law gives the rule for vector addition of two or more vectors. For two vectors and , the vector sum is obtained by placing them head to tail and drawing the vector from the free tail to the free head.

Easy way to find out instantaneous velocity is to do differentiation of dispacement witch respect to time that is: V=dx/dt

Ranjeet Kumar 6 years, 5 months ago

Instantaneous velocity is a useful tool to determine velocity at any point or any time for a body in non uniform motion.For example, average velocity in a fixed time interval is given by,<v> = Δχ/Δt where Δχ is the distance covered in time interval Δt.When Δt becomes infinitesimaly small,it gives the instantaneous velocity.Or, v = limΔt->0 Δχ/Δt = dx/dt by language of calculus.Now, let the displacement of a body with respect to time is given by x = t^2+2t+1.To determine the velocity at 4s, we have to determine the value of the deriviative of x w.r.t. t at t=4.Or, v(4)= [d(t^2+2t+1)/dt ]_4=[2t+2]_4 =10 m/s.

Yuvika Gupta 6 years, 5 months ago

Sorry it will be dx /dt

Yuvika Gupta 6 years, 5 months ago

By differentiating the function of position Eg- let x = 4t^2+3t+4 then velocity = dy/dx(4t^2+3t+4) = 8t+3. And time will be most probably provided in the question.

A^-> × B^-> = AB sinθ n^ where n^ is a unit vector perpendicular to both A^-> and B^->, and θ is the angle between A^-> and B^->. The resultant of cross product or vector product of two vectors is itself a vector, representing a right handed system.

A parsec is equal to about 3.26 light-years(31 trillion kilometres or 19 trillion miles) in length.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 5 months ago

A light year is the distance covered by light in one year at the speed of 300,000 kilometres per second.
A parsec is the short of parallactic second,it is an astronomical unit of length used to measure distances to objects outside the solar system.
It is the distance at which an arc of length one astronomical unit subtends an angle of one second of an arc.
1 parsec= 3.26163626 light years
1 light year = 0.30659458 parsec.

MLT is the power -2 inverse

Sia ? 6 years, 5 months ago

The dimension of force is [MLT−2]

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 5 months ago

The dimension of a physical quantity is defined as the powers to which the fundamental quantities are raised in order to represent that quantity. The seven fundamental quantities are enclosed in square brackets [ ] to represent its dimensions.

<pre>  Force applied on a body is the product of acceleration and mass of the body</pre>

Force = Mass × Acceleration

Dimension of Mass = [M]

Dimension of Acceleration = [LT-2]

Dimension of Force will be = [M] × [LT-2]

[Force] = [MLT-2]
