SI unit of solid angle:
A steradian is the SI unit of solid angle.It can be defined as the solid angle substended at a center of an unit,sphere by a unit area on its surface.For a general sphere of radius r, any portion on its surface with area A= r2

- Let us first consider the vertical upward motion of ball upto highest point, we have
u = 20 m/s, v = 0
a = -10 m/s2, t = t1,
x = ?
Using the relation, v2 = u2 + 2ax, we have
{tex}x = \frac { v ^ { 2 } - u ^ { 2 } } { 2 a } = \frac { 0 - ( 20 ) ^ { 2 } } { 2 \times ( - 10 ) }{/tex}= 20 m.
Hence, the ball will rise upto 20m and height from the ground = 20 + 25 = 45 m. -
From the given figure, we have upward motion A to B in time(t1) and downward motion(B to C) in time(t2)
Also Velocity at B is zero.
v = u - gt
From the top, the ball falls freely under acceleration due to gravity
{tex}\therefore \quad x = x _ { 0 } + u t + \frac { 1 } { 2 } g t _ { 2 } ^ { 2 }{/tex}
Since x = 0, x0 = 25 m, u = 0 and g = 10 m/s2
Therefore, 25 + 20 {tex}\times t- \frac12 \times10 \times t^2=0{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow t^2-4t-5=0{/tex}
on solving, we get t = 5 and t = -1
Time taken by the ball to hit the ground = 5 s (reject t = -1 )

Unification: It is the act of unifying the different laws valid for different phenomena in to a single theory that explains all the different phenomena.
Eg. Electricity, magnetism and light are different phenomena and have different laws of physics for each of them. These are unified under theory of electromagnetism;
Reduction: It is the effort to solve a complex problem by breaking it into simpler parts.
Eg. Temperature of a system is reduced to average kinetic.

- Elastic Collision: In the elastic collision total momentum, the total energy and the total kinetic energy are conserved. However, the total mechanical energy is not converted into any other energy form as the forces involved in the short interaction are conserved in nature. Consider from the above graph two masses, m1 and m2 moving with speed u1 and u2. The speed after the collision of these masses is v1 and v2 . The law of conservation of momentum will give:
m1u1 + m2u2 = m1v1 + m2v2
The conservation of Kinetic Energy says:
1/2 m1u21 + 1/2 m2u22 = 1/2 m1v21 +1/2 m2v22

Velocity of jet w.r.t. ground Vjg= 450 km/h …...(Upward)
Velocity of products relative to jet VPJ = 1200 km/h …(downward)
Hence, velocity of products relative to ground = -1200+450
= -750 km/h
Here – ve sing means downward .

Static friction is the force of friction which comes into play between the surfaces of contact of two bodies when there is no relative motion between the bodies inspite of applying an external force on them. Force of static friction is self-adjusting. Its value may vary from zero to limiting friction depending on the value of applied force.
