A dipole moment arises in any system in which there is a separation of charge. They can, therefore, arise in ionic bonds as well as in covalent bonds. Dipole moments occur due to the difference in electronegativity between two chemically bonded atoms.
A bond dipole moment is a measure of the polarity of a chemical bond between two atoms in a molecule. It involves the concept of electric dipole moment, which is a measure of the separation of negative and positive charges in a system.

The moment of inertia is defined as the quantity expressed by the body resisting angular acceleration which is the sum of the product of the mass of every particle with its square of a distance from the axis of rotation. The SI unit of moment of inertia is kg m2. It is also known as the angular mass or rotational inertia.

According to dynamic theory of heat every body is made of small particles called molecules. These molecules can possess three kinds of motion:
(a) Translation motion
(b) Rotational motion
(c) Vibrational motion
Thus in dynamic theory of heat, heat is defined as sum of kinetic energy due to translational, rotational and vibrational motion etc.

When a force is parallel to the direction of motion of the body, then work done on the body is maximum. Work done will be maximum if the angle between the force F and displacement d is 0o. If , which is the angle between the direction of displacement and the force applied, is zero, then cos = 1.

When electric current is supplied to a purely resistive conductor, the energy of electric current is dissipated entirely in the form of heat and as a result, resistor gets heated. The heating of resistor because of dissipation of electrical energy is commonly known as Heating Effect of Electric Current. Some examples are as follows:
When electric energy is supplied to an electric bulb, the filament gets heated because of which it gives light. The heating of electric bulb happens because of heating effect of electric current.
When an electric iron is connected to an electric circuit, the element of electric iron gets heated because of dissipation of electric energy, which heats the electric iron. The element of electric iron is a purely resistive conductor. This happens because of heating effect of electric current.
