In Physics, the number of oscillations per second is known as Frequency. Its SI Unit is Hertz(Hz), i.e., second to the power -1, i.e., second inverse or Hz.

Farhat Shaikh Shaikh 5 years, 9 months ago

Interference pattern is produced when two waves of same frequency travelling in same direction superimpose, while beats are formed when frequencies are slightly different.

In interference, the position of maximum and minimum are permanent i.e., intensity at a given point does not change with time, but in beats the intensity of wave changes at given point with time.

Because in Solids, the particles (or molecules) are tightly fixed at their own plzce, due to which no movement occurs in them, and as a result, no attraction from bulk particles, and hence, no Surface tension in solids. But in case of Liquids and Gases(Fluids), the constituent particles are in motion, due to which an attraction from bulk particles give rise to Surface tension in Fluids.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 9 months ago

  • Surface tension is the property of the liquid surface which arises due to the fact that surface molecules have extra energy.
  • Surface energy is the extra energy which the molecules at the surface have.
  • Surface tension is the property of the liquid surface because the molecules have extra energy.

Cp=Cv+R (Cp=[dq/dt]p),(Cv=[dq/dt]v) So using first law of thermodynamics dq=du+dw Dividing both side by dt dq/dt=du/dt+dw/dt. dq=mL,dw=pdv at constant volume [dq/dt]v=[du/dt]v+[dw/dt]v [dq/dt]v=[du/dt]v+[pdv/dt]v Take constant term outside the bracket [dq/dt]v=[du/dt]v+p[dv/dt]v Cv=[du/dt]v+0 Cv=du/dt....................... 1 At constant pressure [dq/dt]p=[du/dt]p+[dw/dt]p Cp=[du/dt]p+[pdv/dt]p........................2 From ideal gas equation Pv=nRt n=1 for 1mole Pv=Rt At constant p R=pdv/dt Putting this value pdv/dt in eq 2 Cp=Cv+R R=Cp-Cv. The temperature scales of celsius and fahrenheit are not absolute scales. By absolute we mean that they start at some reference point (freezing point of water). Hence, they are considered random scales. So, we associate a degree symbol with random scales. Similar is done with angles. On the other hand, kelvin scale is the absolute scale of temperature. It has a perfect origin. There is no temperature below the zero kelvin temperature. Hence, there is no degree symbol associated with it.
