let the length of rope be x. rope used to tie box= 1/4 of x= x/4 remaining rope = x-x/4=3x/4 rope used to make skipping rope= 3x/4*5/9= 5x/12 remaining rope =3x/4-5x/12= 4x/12 4x/12=120 x= 360 cm lenght of rope. rope used to tie box= 360*1/4=90cm

Base equation : y = 1

Perpendicular equation : x = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

For better understanding of the solution see the attached figure :

The base RQ of the triangle will be parallel to x-axis so the equation will be :  y = constant

But the coordinates of the hypotenuse side is given to be (-4,1) so the y-intercept will be same. Hence, the equation will be y = 1

Now, for the equation of perpendicular the line will be parallel to the y-axis and the intercept will be equal to the x-intercept of the point (1,3). Hence, the required equation of the perpendicular : x = 1

Volume of sheet = volume of cube
First we will calculate volume of metal sheet =l X b x h
= 27 x8 x1=216cm3
So volume of the cube is also 216 cm3
216=a3

So surface area of sheet = 2(lb+bh+hl)
= 2(27x8+8x1+1x27)
= 502cm2
And surface area of cube
=6a2
=6 x6^2=216cm2
Difference between surface area = 502-216=286cm2
