The face value of a digit is the value of the digit itself, in a number. Whether the number is single-digit, double-digit, or three-digit or any number, each digit has its face value.

148y+231x=527xy........eq(1) 231y+148x=610xy........eq(2) By adding eq(1)and eq(2) we get, y+x=3xy......eq(3) By subtracting eq(2) from eq(1) we get, y-x=xy......eq(4) By adding eq(3) and eq(4) we get, 2y=4xy or x=1/2 By putting the value of x in eq(3) we get, y=1

If U is a universal set and A be any subset of U then the complement of A is the set of all members of the universal set U which are not the elements of A.

A′ = {x : x ∈ U and x ∉ A}

Alternatively it can be said that the difference of the universal set U and the subset A gives us the complement of set A.
