u mean differentiation?? It is the slope of tangent to any point on grph of a function ....when the tangent is not exactly the tangent but the line join two points on the graph the distance between whom "Tends to zero"...I am not completely sure but this is what I understood

U=400 Let S be the set of spaniel speakers Let E be the set of English speakers : as we know universal set (U)= 400 : also, S +E that is 250+200=450 Therefore, 450-400 =50 people must speak both languages. Because universal set is the sum of all the sets but the sum of both sets is greater than the universal set i.e 450>400,this shows that 50 peoples must speak both languages

Ans. Let S be the set of people speaking Spanishand E be the set of people speaking English. n(S)=250 n(E)=200 n(S Union E)=400 n(S Union E) = n(S) +n(E)- n(S intersection E) 400=250+200 - n(S intersection E) 400=450- n(S intersection E) 400-450=n(S intersection E) n(S intersection E)=50
