Frank seems to encourage Taplow’s comments on Crocker-Harris. He shows appreciation for Taplow’s imitation of Mr Crocker-Harris and asks him to repeat it. On smother occasion, Frank tells Taplow not to keep a good joke (narrated in the style of Mr Crocker Harris) to himself but to tell it to others.

Crocker-Harris and Frank are both teachers in Taplow’s school. But they are poles apart in their characters. Crocker is a very strict teacher. He is a man of discipline. He has his own principles. He is true to his duty. He never does any favour or disfavour to his students. On the other hand Frank is not true to his duty. He teaches science. He himself does not like the subject he teaches, but he calls his students slackers. He is jealous of Crocker. He encourages Taplow to say things against Crocker and mock at him. It does not behave a teacher to encourage a student against another teacher. In trying to degrade Crocker-Harris he degrades himself only.

The human beings have to die one or the other day but the sea is permanent . It is still going to be their after our death. Synecdoche is used here. In this a small part is used to describe the whole thing . As in this , 'feet' is used to describe the whole human beings and not only their feet.

The play written by J.B. Priestly reveals how a mother’s efforts are ignored by her family. It narrates how the family members who work eight hour shifts a day look upon her although she works for the whole day and all week. After all she does for them, they take her for granted. They make her feel obligated to provide for them and do not even appreciate her efforts. It revolves around how her friend Mrs Fitzgerald who is a fortune teller helps her earn the place and respect she deserves as the woman of the house.

Fossils are remains or impressions of organisms that lived in the remote past. Fossils provide the evidence that the present animal have originated from previously existing ones through the process of continuous evolution. Fossils can be used to reconstruct evolutionary history of an organism. The distribution pattern of fossils shows that the ancient fossils present in the bottom rocks are simple, while the most recent fossils found in the upper strata are more highly evolved. It means fossils form and become more and more complex as we proceed from earliest to recent rocks. It gives us an idea of time in history when different species were formed or became extinct. Fossil also help to trace the evolutionary history of some animals.

Mrs Fitzgerald is a neighbour of Mrs Pearson. She is a fortune teller. She learnt this art from the East where her husband had served in the army. She also knows the art of magic. She knows the trick of causing personalities change bodies. Actually, Mrs Fitzgerald presents a sharp contrast to Mrs Pearson. She is bold and dominating while her neighbour is meek and weak.
Mrs Fitzgerald knows that Mrs Pearson is very fond of her children and husband. But they are very thoughtless and selfish. Mrs Pearson runs after them all the time. She takes their orders as if she were the servant in the house. She wants to help Mrs Pearson. She wants to make her the mistress of her own house and the boss of her family. After the spell is spoken the personalities change bodies. Mrs Pearson is now with Mrs Fitzgerald’s personality. She becomes bold and dominating. She starts smoking and drinking.
The spoilt children are shocked and surprised to see the sudden change in their mother. Mrs Pearson takes her daughter Doris to task for not doing her work herself. Doris asks her yellow silk to be ironed and orders for tea. Mrs Pearson refuses to oblige the girl. She also taunts her for choosing a worthless boy-friend. Cyril, the son, also meets the same fate. So does Mr George. She reminds them that all will have a forty-hour week. She will be free at the weekend. She will not do any extra work. She doesn’t get any wages or thanks for it. The dose given by Mrs Fitzgerald to the spoilt children and George brings results. When Mrs Pearson comes to her real self, everybody obeys her. All fall in line to support and follow her.

An angry wind stirred up ghostly dust devils as King Tut was taken from his resting place in the ancient Egyptian cemetery known as the Valley of the Kings*. Dark-bellied clouds had scudded across the desert sky all day and now were veiling the stars in casket grey. It was 6 p.m. on 5 January 2005. The world’s most famous mummy glided head first into a CT scanner brought here to probe the lingering medical mysteries of this little understood young ruler who died more than 3,300 years ago.who died more than 3,300 years ago. All afternoon the usual line of tourists from around the world had descended into the cramped, rock-cut tomb some 26 feet underground to pay their respects.

During the first visit, Mrs Dorling had not given any sign of recognition upon seeing the narrator. She had kept staring at her in silence which led the narrator to think that she might have come there by mistake. The narrator had only seen Mrs. Dorling once before this meeting, fleetingly and years ago. The woman was wearing the narrator's mother's green knitted cardigan, the wooden buttons rather pale from washing and was half hidden behind the door.
