Mole fraction is a unit of concentration, defined to be equal to the number of moles of a component divided by the total number of moles of a solution.
Because it is a ratio, mole fraction is a unitless expression.
The mole fraction of all components of a solution, when added together, will equal 1.

The aufbau principle states that in the ground state of an atom or ion, electrons fill atomic orbitals of the lowest available energy levels before occupying higher levels (e.g., 1s before 2s).
Aufbau is a German noun that means construction or "building-up".

Cations are always smaller than their parent atoms this is because they have lesser electrons, while their nuclear charge remains the same. The remaining electrons are, therefore held more tightly by the protons in the nucleus and thus their radii. are smaller than the parent atoms. This is opposite in the case of anions.

Surface tension is responsible for the shape of liquid droplets. Although easily deformed, droplets of water tend to be pulled into a spherical shape by the cohesive forces of the surface layer.

molecular orbital (MO) theory is a method for determining molecular structure in which electrons are not assigned to individual bonds between atoms, but are treated as moving under the influence of the nuclei in the whole molecule.

The coordination number of an atom in a molecule is the number of atoms bonded to the atom. In chemistry and crystallography, the coordination number describes the number of neighbor atoms with respect to a central atom. The term was originally defined in 1893 by Alfred Werner. The value of the coordination number is determined differently for crystals and molecules. The coordination number can vary from as low as 2 to as high as 16

Wavelength is the distance between the crests of a wave. Many different things can move like waves, like strings, water, the air (sound waves), the ground (earthquakes), and light can be treated as a wave. Wavelength is represented with the Greek letter lambda: λ. It is equal to the velocity of the wave, divided by the frequency. Wavelength is expressed in units of meters (m).
{tex}Wavelength= {wave \ veloctiy\over frequency}{/tex}
{tex}\lambda = {v\over f}{/tex}
λ = wavelength, the distance between wave crests (m)
v = wave velocity, the speed that waves are moving in a direction (m/s)
f = frequency, the wave crests that go through a point in a certain time (cycles/s or Hz)
