The initial temp we give is Used to break the Hydrogen bonding in Ice and hence at 4 Degree all the hydrogen bonds have broken so water has max density at 4 degree after that density decreases

Priya Dharshini ? 6 years, 10 months ago

When the ice melts to liquid water, the structure collapses and the density of the liquid increases. At temperatures well above freezing, the molecules move faster and get further apart. The density decreases as temperature increases. ... Thus, the density of water is a maximum at 4 °C......

Li is hard,form covalent bond,it cannot hold large sized CO32- atoms and hence li2co3 is unstable to heat,lino3 decomposes to form oxides and no2 but other members form nitrides.Be does not react directly because of deposition of a protective oxide film over its surface so it is first converted into powderes form ,amphoteric in nature,it reacts with halogens in the form of beo.

As said by Namrata, the limiting wavelength in the Lyman series can be calculated by using the Rydberg formula. The Rydberg formula is given as

For the Lyman series, n1 = 1 and n2 = 2,3....

The above formula can be further simplified as

1 / λ = (R H / hc) [(1/ n1) - (1/ n2)]

Therefore for the limiting wavelength, n2 will be ∞, so ( 1 / n2) will be zero. The Rydberg Formula will now be

 1 / λ = (R H / hc) [(1/ n1)]

Now RH has the value of  2.18X10–18 J, h that is Planck's constant has the value of 6.63 X 10-34 Js, c that is the speed of light has the value 3 X 108 ms-1 and n1has the value 1.  Substituting these values in the above relation and solving for λ, we get

 λ = 9.12 X 10-8 m.

So the limiting wavelength will be 9.12 X 10-8 m.
