Let Ag107 and Ag109 available in x% and y% respectively. So,x + y = 100 .........(i) Now, (x × 107/100)+(y × 109/100) =108.5 1.07x +1.09y=108.5 ..........(ii) On multiplying (i) by 1.09 and subtracting (ii) from (i),we get 0.02x = 0.5 ==> x = 25 On putting x = 25 in (i), we get y = 75 Percent of Ag107 =25% Percent of Ag109 =75%

Mass number of Carbon (C) = 12.044u Mass number of Hydrogen (H) = 1.008u Thus,mass number of CH4 = (12.044 + 4 ×1.008) = 16.076u Molar mass of CH4 is the mass number of CH4 expressed in grams i.e.16.076 grams or 16 g.

Energy is directly proportional to Z^2 / n^2. This ratio is greater in 3rd period atoms than 2nd period atoms.

Shubhi . 6 years, 7 months ago

The elements of the second period have smalleat atomic size among the element in their respective group. As a result there are considerable electron - electron replusion within the atom itself and hence the additional electron is not a accepted with the same ease as is the case with the reamaing element
