Octet rule Atoms can combine either by transfer of valence electrons from one atom to another (gaining or losing) or by sharing of valence electrons in order to have an octet in their valence shell.
Significance of octet rule It help to explain why different atom combine with each other to form ionic or covalent compounds.

Since solvation energy of Lithium chloride is higher than that of Cesium chloride ,thus Lithium chloride is soluble in solvents such as Pyridine .
Solvation energy is the amount of energy released when one mole of substance combine with the solvent or gets solvated in the solvent. Thus instead of high lattice energy in case of Lithium chloride it gets Soluble in pyridine.

The common ion effect is an effect which results when two substances, which both ionize to give the same (common) ion, are involved in a chemical equilibrium.
The solubility of a sparingly soluble salt is reduced in a solution that contains an ion in common with that salt. For instance, the solubility of silver chloride in water is reduced if a solution of sodium chloride is added to a suspension of silver chloride in water.
