Kranz anatomy is a special type of anatomy seen in only some plants which are known as C4 plants as the product of CO2 fixation is a 4C compound. Kranz means wreath. In kranz anatomy special cells also known as bundle sheath cells are present surrounding the vascular bundle. The mesophyll cells lack the enze RUBISCO and hence no photorealistic takes place in C4 plants . While the bundle sheath cells have that enzyme and hence Calvin cycle takes place in tbundle sheath cells.Refer other sources for detailed explanation ?

The vasa recta, the capillary networks that supply blood to the medulla, are highly permeable to solute and water. As with the loop of Henle, the vasa recta form a parallel set of hairpin loops within the medulla. Not only do the vasa recta bring nutrients and oxygen to the medullary nephron segments but, more importantly, they also remove the water and solute that is continuously added to the medullary interstitium by these nephron segments. The ability of the vasa recta to maintain the medullary interstitial gradient is flow dependent. A substantial increase in vasa recta blood flow dissipates the medullary gradient. Alternatively, decreased blood flow reduces oxygen delivery to the nephron segments within the medulla. Because transport of salt and other solutes requires oxygen and adenosine triphosphate, reduced medullary blood flow decreases salt and solute transport by nephron segments in the medulla. As a result, the medullary interstitial osmotic gradient cannot be maintained, which also reduces the ability to concentrate the urine.

A synapse is a junction between two neurons. Neurons are basically Nervous System Cells. They pass impulses from one place to another. E.G. They pass impulses from your arm to your brain allowing you to feel if you are being touched. Synapses are useful for many reasons but I’m not going to go into that. The neurotransmitters indirectly pass on the impulse from one neuron to another. The large bulge on the presynaptic neuron is the synaptic knob.

There are three steps/ process involved in the formation of urine , Glomerular Filtration Selective Reabsorption Tubular Secretion Filtration in the kidney through glomerulus The substance get filtrate in glomerulus is similar to the component of plasma with exception of proteins and blood cells. Blood cells, plasma proteins and other large molecules are too large in size to filter and remain in the capillaries. Process of filtration take place through glomerulus & glomerulus capsule through semipermeable membrane. Water and other small molecules readily get absorbed. Why filtration take place in the body? Filtration occure due to difference between the blood pressure in the glomerulus & filtrate pressure in glomerular capsule. The volume of filtrate formed by both kidneys each minute is called glomerular filtration rate. In a healthy adult, Normal gfr is about 125ml/min. i.e. 180 litres of filtrate is formed of which only 1% get excreted as urine. Selective Reabsorption Process of reabsorption is done through two processes, Active Transport Passive Transport Active transport take place at a carrier site in the epithelial membrane by using chemical energy to transport the substance. Some ions, Chloride and sodium absorption in the kidney done by both active and passive mechanism. Water, electrolytes and organic nutrients are passively absorbed in renal tubule. Renal tubule are of distal convoluted tubule and proximal convoluted tubule.
