According to NCERT Book... 1. No fixed position can be given to hydrogen in the periodic table. 2. The atomic masses don't increase in a regular manner in going from one element to the next. 3. It was not possible to predict how many elements could be discovered between two elements-especially when we take heavier elements.

Limitations of Mendeleev’s periodic table: ✿Elements with large difference in properties were included in the same group. Eg: Hard metals like copper (Cu) and silver (Ag) were included along with soft metals like sodium (Na) and potassium (K). ✿No proper position could be given to the element hydrogen. Non-metallic hydrogen was placed along with metals like lithium (Li), sodium (Na) and potassium (K). ✿The increasing order of atomic mass was not strictly followed throughout. Eg. Co & Ni, Te &I. ✿No place for isotopes in the periodic table.

1. In Mendeleev’s periodic table, the horizontal rows are called periods. There are seven periods and they are numbered from 1 to 7. 2. As one moves from left to right in a period, there is a gradual change from metallic to non-metallic properties. 3. There are eight vertical columns called groups. They are numbered from I to VIII. Groups I to VII are further divided into two subgroups A and B.
Main features of Mendeleev's Periodic Table: (a) There are seven horizontal rows in the periodic table. They are called periods and are numbered from 1 to 7. (b) In a given period, there is a regular gradation in the properties of elements from left to right. (c) There are eight vertical columns in the periodic table. These are named as groups. They are numbered from I to VIII. Groups I to VII are subdivided into subgroups A and B.

Equal number of atom in reactants and products. For balanced chemical equation it should be balanced in reactants And products. It can be done by trial method .

Khushi 5 years ago

The equation in which the number of atoms of all the molecules is equal on both sides of the equation is known as a balanced chemical equation.

Kiran Kumari 5 years ago

The equation in which no. Of atom of each element are equal on both side is called balanced chemical equation
It has equal number of atoms of different elements in reactants and product

Adithya Dev A 5 years ago

When the no. of atoms of same type in both LHS and RHS in a chemical equation at a specific temperature and pressure is equal, then the equation is said to be balanced. Eg :- 2H2 + O2 ----> 2H2O.

The S.I Unit of potential difference is volt (V). 1 volt =One volt is the potential difference between two points in a current carrying conductor when 1 joule of work is done to move a charge of 1 coulomb from one point to the other.

Volt

Rohit Saini 5 years ago

The SI unit of electric potential difference is volt (named after Italian scientist Alessandro Volta). The electric potential difference across two points is said to be 1V if 1J of work is done in moving 1C of charge from one point to another. 1V = 1J/1C. .

Sorry, dihybrid is two pairs.

Adithya Dev A 5 years ago

In monohybrid crosses, any one pair of contrasting traits is considered. Eg :- Tall pea plants (TT) and short pea plants (tt). In pea plants, the phenotypic ratio of F2 progeny in monohybrid crosses is always roughly 3:1. But, in dihybrid crosses, more than one pairs of contrasting traits may be considered. Eg :- Pea plants bearing round and green seeds (RRyy) and wrinkled and yellow seeds (rrYY). In pea plants, the phenotypic ratio of F2 progeny is 9:3:3:1.

When we keep food in air tight container it reduce the chance of oxidation of fat and oil containing food items, or slow down the oxidation .

Adithya Dev A 5 years ago

The food we eat may contain fats and oils which when kept in contact with air for a long time, gets oxidised in presence of oxygen to become rancid. This would result in foul smell and bad taste. But, if kept in air tight containers, the chance of coming in contact with oxygen containing air would be reduced. This would thus, help slow down the process of oxidation.

In binary fission parent cell divides into two daughter cells -example Amoeba ,leishmania

Navjot Kaur 5 years ago

In binary fission, the parent cell divides itself into two equal and identical daughter cells. It is the most common form of reproduction in prokaryotes such as bacteria. In multiple fission, a single parent cell is divided into many daughter cells.

Adithya Dev A 5 years ago

BINARY FISSION = parent body divides into two daughter cells. Karyokinesis occurs only once. Eg :- Amoeba, leishmania, etc. MULTIPLE FISSION = parent body divides into multiple daughter cells. Karyokinesis occurs multiple times. Eg :- Plasmodium.

Heena Choudhary 5 years ago
