Phan Boi Chau was Vietnamese nationalist scholar who was educated in the Confucian tradition. He formed the Revolutionary society (Duy Tan Hoi) in 1903 with Prince Cuong De as the head to lead anti-colonial resistance. He was influenced by Chinese reformer Ling Qichao and wrote a book called The History of the Loss of Vietnam. He was an advocate of closer relations between China and Vietnam. He belonged to the traditional elite society of Vietnam and supported the monarchy as the means to get rid of French colonialism.

* Romantic artists did not appreciate the glorification of science and reason but glorified emotions, intuition and mystical feeling.
* In Germany romanticism was spread through folklores, folk dance and folk poetry.
* Karol Kurpinsky spread the sprit of nationalism through opera and music to illiterate masses.
* Language was used to spread nationalistic feelings in Poland which was under Russian dominance.

Settled Agriculture: (1) In agricultural farms, it is practiced permanently on a small or big piece of land. In this type of agriculture, size of the field is not paid much attention.
(2) The land / soil is often suitable for agriculture, if not it is made suitable by farmers, by using manures to increase the fertility of land.
Shifting agriculture: (1) In this type of agriculture the place of cultivation changes after 2 to 3 crops, when there is over growth of grass, weeds etc. It is left fallow to regain its fertility.
(2) The land for this type of agriculture is obtained after burning bushes etc or after cutting down trees or bushes. The farmer does not use manure to regain the fertility of the land.

(iii) It is a comprehensive approach which cover all the major aspects of life.
(iv) Apart from income, education, health status, life expectancy, etc., are considered for measuring economic development of a nation.
