A hydraulic structure is a structure submerged or partially submerged in any body of water, which disrupts the natural flow of water. They can be used to divert, disrupt or completely stop the flow. An example of a hydraulic structure would be a dam, which slows the normal flow rate of the river in order to power turbines. A hydraulic structure can be built in rivers, a sea, or any body of water where there is a need for a change in the natural flow of water.

Examples of hydraulic structures in India developed in ancient times are :

Defection is an act of changing party allegiance from the party on which a person got elected (to a Legislative body) to a different party. Earlier it has been an important cause for the formation as well as fall of government. MLAs and MPs were indulging in defection in order to become ministers or for cash rewards. Later on the Constitution was amended and defection has been banned by passing ‘Anti Defection Law’.

Almost every country in the world has social diversities in respect to caste, race, religion, language, etc. Democracy is considered to be the most suitable form of government to accommodate these diversities. It aims at giving equal rights and opportunities to all the citizens.
Democracy is not simply rule by majority opinion. The majority always needs to work for minority. Democracy does not believe in any kind of discrimination among citizens on grounds of caste, religion, colour, ***, race, etc. It accommodates alLsocial diversities.
