Linguistic states are the states divided on the basis of language. It is common in a multilingual country like India where diverse languages are spoken. So, for better administration and reduction of the possibility of regional conflicts in future, states in India were carved out on linguistic basis. The most common language of the state becomes the official language of the state. For example, Assamese is the official language of Assam which is spoken by almost 80% of the people of the state.

Unification of Germany:

  • The  newly  emerged  middle  class  in  Germany  in  1848  tried  to  unite  several German  kingdoms which  were  suppressed  by  monarchies  and  large  landowners into one nation state governed by an elected body.
  • Prussia, a German kingdom, took the leadership in uniting various German states. Otto  von  Bismarck,  the  Chief  Minister  of  Prussia, aimed  to  achieve  the  goal  of unification with the help of the Prussian army and the bureaucracy.
  • Spread over seven years, the Prussian army with the help of the Austrian, French and Danish armies fought three wars and successfully incorporated all the small German kingdoms. This marked the process of completion of German unification.
  • The  German  unification  was  completed  in  1871  and  in  the  same  year William I was  declared  as  the emperor of Germany at the Palace of Versailles.
  • The process of the unification of Germany exhibited the power of the Prussian state. Many new reforms were initiated in banking, currency, administration and judiciary in Germany.

Biotic resources can be various and I would explain some of it. It could be like food and habitat. In the ecosystems, some organisms are producers (mainly are plants) while some others are consumers. In this case, those photosynthetical plants are the resources for other organisms in the higher trophic level. Some organisms also use another organisms as the habitat to live in and to avoid predator or other threats. Such as birds that make their nests on the tree where the tree become its resources.

For the abiotic resources, it can be more varied, such as sun light and soil nutrients, We can clearly observe how plants are competing to get sunlight in the tropical forest. Some plants have strategy to get more sunlight, such as liana, a plants that climb up the host tree to reach the canopy and get more sunlight. The same thing also happens on the soil nutrients.

The deposits in the bank accounts can be withdrawn on demand, are known as demand deposits.... They offer another facility which lends it the essential characteristics of money as a medium of exchange, hence demand deposits are considered as money. The facility of cheques against demand deposits makes it possible to directly settle payments without use of cash. Demand deposits are accepted widely as a means of payment along with currency, so they also constitute money in modern economy.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 5 months ago

Demand deposits are considered as money for the following reasons :

(i) They can be withdrawn from the bank whenever it is so required.

(ii) They are widely accepted as a means of payment, along with the currency, hence they are considered as money.

(iii) They are accepted widely as means of payment by way of a cheque instead of cash. Thus they are also considered as money in the modern economy.

A government issued - currency is called fiat money.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 5 months ago

Fiat Money – Fiat is a Latin word, which means 'let there be'. Fiat money refers to any currency lacking intrinsic value (without back up of gold or silver or any other reserves) that is declared legal tender by a government. It is any money backed by the order of government to act as money. People have to accept it in exchange for goods and services and for discharge of debt.. It is also called legal tender as it circulates in country on government's order.

Ex - Dollar, they are just pieces of paper printed with symbols - they have no intrinsic value of their own. They only become valuable when the government decrees that they have worth
