The factors which have enabled globalisation in India are
(i) During the past ,50 years, several improvements in technology have taken place. For example, in transportation technology, containers are now used for the transportation of goods. This has led to huge reduction in cost and increase in speed in reaching the markets.
(ii)Telecommunication facilities are used to contact one another around the world and to communicate from remote areas. Internet enables us to send instant electronic mail and talk across the world at negligible costs.
(iii) The Government of India has removed barriers or restrictions to trade set earlier. This step, called liberalisaHon, ha enabled goods and services to be exported and imported easily.
Multinationals lave been allowed to set-up factories and offices in India. Due to this, there is greater integration of poduction and markets across countries.

Earliest Novels : Some of the earliest Indian novels were written in Bengali and Marathi. The earliest novel in Marathi was Baba Padmanji's Yamuna Paryatan (1857), which used a simple style of storytelling to speak about the plight of widows. This was followed by Lakshman Moreshwar Halbe's Muktamala (1861).

The main objective of vienna Congress was to undo most of the changes that had been come about in Europe and to restore the monarchies that had been overthrown by Napoleon and create new conservative order in Europe.

Yogita Ingle 6 years, 5 months ago

In 1815 the European powers of Britain, Russia, prussia and Austria had collectively defeated Napoleon. Their chief representatives met at Vienna to come to a settlement for Europe. The Congress was hosted by Austrian chancellor Duke Metternich. The delegates grew up the Treaty of Vienna in 1815 with the aim of  undoing what Napoleon had transferred in Europe.

1.The Bourbon dynasty was restored to power in France. They were deposed during the French Revolution. France lost its territories which had been annexed under Napoleon.

2. A series of states were carved out on the French frontiers to prevent French expansion in the coming future. Thus , the kingdom of Netherlands which included Belgium was set up in the north and Genoa was added to Piedmont in the south.

Prussia was given new territories on its Western Frontiers while Austria was given control of Northern Italy. The German confederation of 39 States was left and it is.

4. In the east, Russia was given a part of Poland why Prussia was given a portion of Saxony. The main aim was to restore the monarchies  that were overthrown by Napoleon and re-establish the authority of Conservatives in Europe.

There are three sectors of economy feasibly found i.e. Primary sector, Secondary sector and Tertiary sector. All the three sectors are interdependent.
Some examples are given to elucidate this fact
(i) Agricultural activities produce raw materials for agro- based industries and food for employees in Secondary and Tertiary sectors. It shows industrial sector and service sector’s dependency on Primary sector.
(ii) Industrial activities produce instruments like tractor, fertiliser for agricultural inputs and increase production and productivity in agriculture. Here, Primary sector depends on Secondary sector.
(iii) Transportation facilities are much required for transportation of agricultural products and industrial products to market rural and urban centres. Here, Primary and Secondary sector depend on Tertiary sector.

Tertiary sector has become important in India because :
(i) Basic services like hospitals, education, post and telegraph, courts, etc. are the responsibility of the government in developing countries.
(ii) Demand for services such as transport, trade, storage will increase with the development of primary and secondary sectors.
(iii) Demand for tourism, shopping, private schools, private hospitals, etc. increases with the increase in the level of income.
(iv) Rapid growth of services sector also benefitted from external demand such as software industry and call centre services.
(v) Liberalisation of financial sector provided an environment for faster growth of financial services.

India is a federal country. It has governments at both-central and the state levels.

  • After Independence, there were only few parties which formed governments at the centre and at the state levels. When rival parties formed the Government at the state level, the Central Government tried to misuse its powers by dismissing the State Governments. This weakened the federal spirit of our constitution.
  • However, the condition improved after 1990 when many regional parties emerged in different states.
  • This also marked the beginning of the coalition government. Two or more parties formed the Government at the centre in the absence of a clear majority. This led to a new era of power sharing and respecting the independent working of the State Governments.

Graphite, named by Abraham Gottlob Werner in 1789, from the Greek γράφειν (graphein, "to draw/write", for its use in pencils) is one of the most common allotropes of carbon. Unlike diamond, graphite is an electrical conductor. Thus, it can be used in, for instance, electrical arc lamp electrodes. Likewise, under standard conditions, graphite is the most stable form of carbon. Therefore, it is used in thermochemistry as the standard state for defining the heat of formation of carbon compounds. Graphite conducts electricity, due to delocalization of the pi bond electrons above and below the planes of the carbon atoms. These electrons are free to move, so are able to conduct electricity. However, the electricity is only conducted along the plane of the layers. In diamond, all four outer electrons of each carbon atom are 'localized' between the atoms in covalent bonding. The movement of electrons is restricted and diamond does not conduct an electric current. In graphite, each carbon atom uses only 3 of its 4 outer energy level electrons in covalently bonding to three other carbon atoms in a plane. Each carbon atom contributes one electron to a delocalized system of electrons that is also a part of the chemical bonding. The delocalized electrons are free to move throughout the plane. For this reason, graphite conducts electricity along the planes of carbon atoms, but does not conduct in a direction at right angles to the plane. Graphite powder is used as a dry lubricant. Although it might be thought that this industrially important property is due entirely to the loose interlamellar coupling between sheets in the structure, in fact in a vacuum environment (such as in technologies for use in space), graphite was found to be a very poor lubricant. This fact led to the discovery that graphite's lubricity is due to adsorbed air and water between the layers, unlike other layered dry lubricants such as molybdenum disulfide. Recent studies suggest that an effect called superlubricity can also account for this effect. When a large number of crystallographic defects(physical) bind these planes together, graphite loses its lubrication properties and becomes what is known as pyrolytic carbon, a useful material in blood-contacting implants such as prosthetic heart valves. Graphite is the most stable allotrope of carbon. Contrary to popular belief, high-purity graphite does not readily burn, even at elevated temperatures.[3] For this reason, it is used in nuclear reactors and for high-temperature crucibles for melting metals. Natural and crystalline graphites are not often used in pure form as structural materials due to their shear-planes, brittleness and inconsistent mechanical properties. In its pure glassy (isotropic) synthetic forms, pyrolytic graphite and carbon fiber graphite are extremely strong, heat-resistant (to 3000 °C) materials, used in reentry shields for missile nosecones, solid rocket engines, high temperature reactors, brake shoes and electric motor brushes. Intumescent or expandable graphites are used in fire seals, fitted around the perimeter of a fire door. During a fire the graphite intumesces (expands and chars) to resist fire penetration and prevent the spread of fumes.

Example 2: Assertion: The Mountains on Moon are way taller than Mount Everest. Reason: The force of gravity is stronger on Earth than on the moon. (A) Both the Assertion and the Reason are correct and the Reason is the correct explanation of the Assertion. (B) The Assertion and the Reason are correct but the Reason is not the correct explanation of the Assertion. (C) Our Assertion is true but the Reason is false. (D) The statement of the Assertion is false but the Reason is true. (E) Both the statements are false. Answer: The two statements don’t seem to have the same topic but that doesn’t matter. The reason that the height of Everest is not greater than the mountains on the surface of the moon is gravity. The stronger force of gravity on the surface of earth makes sure that the mountains are shorter. Thus the reason and assertion are not only true but the reason is the correct explanation of the assertion. Therefore the answer is ). Example 3: Assertion: Humans have evolved from an ape-like species of primates. Reason: There are many fossils that support the theory of evolution in case of humans. Answer: You might be tempted to select A) here but wait, there is caution here. The answer is not A). Of course, humans are evolved from apes and there are fossils that support the theory of evolution. But the reason has to explain why humans have evolved from apes. A simple trick to see if reason explains the assertion is to change the assertion into a question. For example, here the assertion becomes, “why have humans evolved from apes?” or “How have humans evolved from apes”. The reason doesn’t answer that. So both the statements are correct but the reason is the explanation of the assertion. Therefore the correct option here is B). Practice Questions Directions: In the following questions, the Assertions (A) and Reason(s) (R) have been put forward. Read both the statements carefully and choose the correct alternative from the following: (A) Both the Assertion and the Reason are correct and the Reason is the correct explanation of the Assertion. (B) The Assertion and the Reason are correct but the Reason is not the correct explanation of the Assertion. (C) Our Assertion is true but the Reason is false. (D) The statement of the Assertion is false but the Reason is true. (E) Both the statements are false. Q 1: Assertion: Dogs are easily one of the most social creatures on earth. Reason: Dogs have been artificially bred from wolves over several generations. Ans: A) Q 2: Assertion: Music is soothing to everybody. Reason: The rhythmic sounds stimulate the brain and produce a soothing effect. Ans: D)

A ballad is a poem that tells a story of romance or adventure. Most of them are written in four to six line stanzas, and they have a definite rhyming pattern. Many times they have refrains, which are regularly repeated lines or stanzas. They can be sung and usually have characters in them. An example of a ballad would be "The Highwayman" by Alfred Noyes. A dashing robber falls in love with Bess, the innkeeper's daughter. Unfortunately, due to a jealous suitor, Bess ends up killing herself to save her lover, and then he returns to be killed by the soldiers. Another example is "The Ballad of Birmingham" written about the true event of the bombing of a church in Birmingham in which four little girls were killed. See the reference link below to read more about it. A lyric poem has a single speaker and usually expresses feeling or emotion. It is also highly musical. The original lyric poems of Aristotle's time were accompanied by a lyre, a harplike instrument played by the ancient Greeks. Lyric poems do not have to rhyme, however. They do NOT tell a story. An example of this would be Lord Byron's "Maid of Athens, Ere We Part". See the link below to view the poem. It professes his love for this maid in Athens. It has one speaker and expresses his feelings of love.

1. The revolution in printing was brought by Gutenberg's printing pres. With the invention of printing press, the cost of producing a book came down. So now even the common people could afford it.
2.The 17th and the 18th centuries saw the rapid rise of literacy rate in most parts of Europe.Churches of different denominations set up schools in villages. By the end of the 18th century, in some parts of Europe, the literacy rate was as high as 60 to 80 per cent.
3.New forms of popular literature were printed, which targeted new audiences. There were almancs or ritual calendars, along with ballads and folk tales.
4.The next phase was the development of periodicals. The periodicals combined information about current affairs with entertainment. Newspapers and journals carried information about wars and trade as well as news of developments in other places.
5.Booksellers employed pedlars who roamed around villages, carrying low price books for sale.

Yes, it is true that “Mineral resources in India are unevenly distributed.” India is one such country which acquires rich and different types of mineral resources. The uneven distribution is due to the fact that India as a country has variation in Geological structure, processes and difference in time involved in the formation of minerals. Three examples to support this statement are as follows:

• The majority of the coal reserves, metallic minerals, Mica and other non-metallic minerals are found in peninsular rocks.

• Most of the petroleum deposits are found sedimentary rocks in the Western and Eastern flanks of the Peninsula, in Gujarat and Assam.

• Reserves of the non-ferrous minerals are found in Rajasthan with the rock systems of the Peninsula. Moreover, there is a lack of economic minerals in the vast alluvial plains of North India.
