Digital India will provide digital vaults (safes) for people to store their certificates online.  Each person will have one unique private key, that will allow people access to their own documents.  Applications will be made and processed online.  The possibility of fake certificates will reduce and authenticity is improved.

Digital training on the technologies will be provided for achieving literacy in citizens.  Mobile phones will be used as the personal identity for various transactions.  People in rural or urban areas will have access to all digital services and the Internet of things  on their mobiles or other gadgets.

Digital India will have more transparency in the processes and governance.  It will eliminate a lot of cheating.  The documents are also safe.  This program will increase employment related to these technologies.  A lot of activities will become automated, with quality of service improving.  This program also will make Indians go to a higher level of literacy and technical skills.

Money acts easier to exchange for goods and services:

  • A person holding money can easily exchange it for any commodity or service that he or she might want.
  • Everyone prefers to receive payments in money and exchange the money for things they want.
For example: A shoemaker wants to sell shoes in the market and buy wheat. The shoemaker will first exchange shoes for money and then exchange the money for wheat. If the shoemaker had to directly exchange shoes for wheat without the use of money. He would have to look for a wheat growing farmer who not only wants to sell wheat but also wants to buy the shoe in exchange. Both the parties have to agree to sell and buy each others commodities. This process is very difficult, time consuming and unhealthy.

Rural local government is popularly known as the Panchayati Raj System in India. It was introduced by a constitutional amendment in 1992, although it is based upon the traditional panchayat system of South Asia. It was established to practice a more decentralised form of governance.

The structure of Panchayati Raj varies from state to state. Some states have three-tier structure (Gram Panchayat at the village level, Panchayat Samiti at block level and Zilla Parishad at district level), whereas some have two-tier structure (Gram Panchayat at village level and Panchayat Samiti at block level). A few states have only single-tier structure at the village level. Two main achievements of the Panchayati Raj System are as follows –
a) Panchayats can best carry out the development programmes, such as mending roads, terrace, and embank the fields, building bunds, digging drains, provide fresh drinking water, etc. They are best constituted to organize voluntary labour for social upliftment and economic amelioration. Since they are directly involving the local people, resource distribution for the various development works is more appropriate and involves less risk.

b) Panchayati Raj system ensures effective coordination between Government programmes and those of voluntary agencies. It acts as a potential school for political training of the masses and can also serve as schools of social service, health care, popular education and social progress.

The movement of the Bhoodan- Gramdan was initiated by the Vinoba Bhave. The idea of this movement was started when Vinoba Bhave was leading the Gandhiji's Padyatra in Andhra Pradesh. In the speech of Vinoba Bhave in Andhra Pradesh he came to know the problems faced by the rural landless farmers, therefore after this raised the issue in front of the government.

Immediately Shri Ram Chandra Reddy stood up and offered 80 acres of land to 80 landless farmers. After that many zamindars started offering the land and this was known as Bhoodan. When he tried to take this idea to entire India this was known as Gramdan where many villagers started offering the land for the redistribution.

Power sharing is desirable because of two main reasons. They are

  • Prudential reason: It reduces any chances of conflicts between social groups. By avoiding conflicts, political stability and unity of the country can be maintained. Dictatorship of the majority community can be oppressive for the minority and can even wreck the majority community as well.
  • Moral reason: Power sharing is the true spirit of democracy. Every section of community has the right to be consulted on how they are to be governed. Governance should be carried out keeping in mind the larger interests of each section of the community.

This feeling of nationalism became intense in the Balkan region after 1871. The Balkan region formerly comprised the present-day territories of Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Croatia, Greece, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, Serbia and Montenegro. The people in these countries were called Slavs. The disintegration of the Ottoman Empire in the region made the situation very explosive in the region as every state was jealous of one another and hoped to gain independence at the cost of the other. One by one, its European subject nationalities broke away from the control of the Ottoman Empire and declared independence. As the different Slavic nationalities struggled to define their identity and independence, the Balkan area became an area of intense conflict.

During this time, many powerful European nations such as England, France, Russia and Germany competed to gain control in the Balkan region.

This competition for gaining prominence in the region finally led to the First World War in 1914.

The following are the reasons why Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1920 felt the need to launch a broad-based movement:

1. In the year 1919, the Imperial Legislative Assembly passed the Rowlatt Act that granted immense power to the British Government. For instance, the police could detain any political leader for two years without any trail. The main aim of the act was to prevent political activities of Indian Nationalists. People throughout India opposed the law.

2. The Martial law of 1919, that took place in Jallianwalla Bagh at Amritsar, killed hundreds of inno-cent people. As the news spread throughout the country. Gandhi Ji felt the need to launch a widespread movement in India against the new laws of the British government.

Consumer is exploited in many ways. Consumers are scattered, unorganised and many of them are illiterate. The traders, moneylenders, service-providers exploit the consumers in many ways. Sellers try to shift the responsibility of product/service on the buyer. They plea that the buyer should be aware when he buys the goods. It is the responsibility of the buyer to check the goods while purchasing them. The need for consumer protection and satisfaction has been widely accepted all over the world. All this has resulted in need for creating consumer awareness in India also.

The per capita income of all the countries are calculated in dollars because..
1.Dollar is an standard international currency.
2. It is the largest used currency in the world.
3. Dollar is the base currency for all export and import pricing.
4.The common currency system taking dollar as the base was devised to bring an homogeneity for studying the GDP of all countries with the same base.
5. Purchase power parity issues.
6. In todays market the currencies have a floating rate against dollar and the exchange rate varies with time. This may arise a confusion for studying the past figures whose exchange rate we may not know with respect to dollar. For example:
If in 2001, 1$=46.5₹
and
In 2018, 1$=62₹;
then
There would be a lot of confusion studying the data's of the year 2001 by international standards today if it had been represented in the local currency (INR in case of India)

The distribution pattern of the Railway network.

  • The northern plains with their vast level land, high population density and rich agricultural resources provided the most favourable condition for their growth.
  • In the hilly terrains of the peninsular region, railway tracts are laid through low hills, gaps or tunnels.
  • The Himalayan mountainous regions too are unfavourable for the construction of railway lines due to high relief, sparse population and lack of economic opportunities. Likewise,
  • It was difficult to lay railway lines on the sandy plain of western Rajasthan, swamps of Gujarat, forested tracks of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand.
  • The contiguous stretch of Sahyadri could be crossed only through gaps or passes (Ghats).
  • The development of the Konkan railway along the west coast has facilitated the movement of passengers and goods.
