This ques is from Demcracy and Diversity , not coming in boards exams
- The outcome depends on how people perceive their identities.
- The outcome depends on how political leaders raise the demands of any community.
- It depends on how the government reacts to the demands of different groups.
Thus, the assertion of social diversities in a country need not be seen as a source of danger. In a democracy, political expression of social divisions is very normal and can be healthy.

Negative effects of globalisation:
- Growth has been witnessed only in few selected areas in the service sector such as hospital services, information and technology, and telecommunication.
- To earn maximum profits, MNCs employed Indian workers at extremely low wages. Only in urban areas, the standard of living has improved. Their income and the quality of consumption also increased. This has led to inequalities of income in the country.
- To deal with the pressure of competition from MNCs, many Indian companies have begun to employ workers on a temporary basis so that they do not have to pay the workers for all 12 months of a year. This has resulted in companies making large profits, but workers not getting their share of benefits.

The following are the reasons why Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1920 felt the need to launch a broad-based movement:
1. In the year 1919, the Imperial Legislative Assembly passed the Rowlatt Act that granted immense power to the British Government. For instance, the police could detain any political leader for two years without any trail. The main aim of the act was to prevent political activities of Indian Nationalists. People throughout India opposed the law.
2. The Martial law of 1919, that took place in Jallianwalla Bagh at Amritsar, killed hundreds of inno-cent people. As the news spread throughout the country. Gandhi Ji felt the need to launch a widespread movement in India against the new laws of the British government.

Collateral covers a multitude of sins. If you have a low credit score, you might normally be declined a loan, but with collateral your lender might be more likely to take that risk because the lender can take ownership of the asset pledged and thus reduce the risk it takes on by loaning to you.

Democracies lead to peaceful harmonious life among citizens:
1. No society has a permanent solution for the differences that can come up between various groups in it.
2. But democracy provides the opportunity to negotiate the differences and decide on what is better for everyone.
