Agriculture is the most labour absorbing sector in India because of the following reasons:
- Agriculture sector is the primary sector of Indian economy. More than half of the working population is employed in agricultural sector.
- The secondary and tertiary sectors still failed to provide more employment opportunities as to a majority of the Indian people, so the people are forced to engage themselves in agriculture.
- It provides labour to many people in the workforce like farmers, transporters, industrialists etc.
