    Magnesium ribbon reacts with oxygen present in air to farm a protective and inert layer of magnesium oxide on its surface. This layer doesn't react and also prevents the ribbon from burning. Thus it have to be rubbed with sandpaper before burning so that the layer is removed😊

    Because if Silver Chloride (AgCl) is kept in sunlight, it decomposes into Silver (Ag) and Chloride (Cl). So, to avoid this process (reaction), Silver Chloride is kept in dark coloured bottle. The chemical equation of this reaction is as follows- 2AgCl(s)-> 2Ag(s) + Cl2(g)
