NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Chapter 10 Image 7 The image is located at a distance of 6 cm from the mirror on the other side of the mirror. The positive and a value of less than 1 of magnification indicates that the image formed is virtual and erect and diminished. 13. The magnification produced by a plane mirror is +1. What does this mean? Answer- The positive sign means an image formed by a plane mirror is virtual and erect. Since the magnification is 1 it means that the size of the image is equal to the size of the object. 14. An object 5 cm is placed at a distance of 20 cm in front of a convex mirror of radius of curvature 30 cm. Find the position, nature and size of the image. Answer- Object distance (u) = – 20 cm Object height (h) = 5 cm Radius of curvature (R) = 30 cm Radius of curvature = 2 × Focal length R = 2f f = 15 cm According to the mirror formula, NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Chapter 10 Image 8 The positive value of image height indicates that the image formed is erect. Hence, the image formed is erect, virtual, and smaller in size. 15. An object of size 7.0 cm is placed at 27 cm in front of a concave mirror of focal length 18 cm. At what distance from the mirror should a screen be placed so that a sharply focused image can be obtained? Find the size and nature of the image. Answer- Object distance (u) = – 27 cm Object height (h) = 7 cm Focal length (f) = – 18 cm According to the mirror formula, NCERT Solutions for Class 10 Chapter 10 Image 9 The negative value of image height indicates that the image formed is inverted. 16. Find the focal length of a lens of power -2.0 D. What type of lens is this? Answer- Power of lens (P) = 1/f P = -2D f = -1/2 = -0.5 m A concave lens has a negative focal length. Therefore, it is a concave lens. 17. A doctor has prescribed a corrective lens of power +1.5 D. Find the focal length of the lens. Is the prescribed lens diverging or converging? Answer- Power of lens (P) = 1/f P = 1.5D f = 1/1.5 = 10/15 = 0.66 m A convex lens has a positive focal length. Therefore, it is a convex lens or a converging lens.

Magnetic field lines appear to emerge or start from the north pole and merge or terminate at the south pole. Inside the magnet, the direction of the magnetic field lines is from the south pole to the north pole. Magnetic field lines never intersect with each other. Magnetic field lines form a closed-loop.

Siddharth Singh 3 years, 4 months ago

Some Properties of magnetic field lines are :- 1) They Never Intersect each other . 2) Originate from north pole and end at south Pole. 3)The More curves will be there in magnetic field lines the stronger will be it's magnetic field. 4)They Are like Closed Curves,As they end at a point . 5)They are crowded at the poles that is why there is maximum magnetic attraction 🧲 at The poles

Mahi Yadav 3 years, 4 months ago

1 They travel North Pole to South Pole outside the magnet and South Pole to North Pole inside the magnet. 2 They are closed and continues curves.

Prajwal K 3 years, 4 months ago

1. They r parallel 2. Never meet each other 3.Magnetic force is maximum at the poles 4. They flow from south pole to North pole

Tropic movements happen as a result of growth of a plant part in the direction of the stimulus. There are four types of tropic movements, viz. geotropic, phototropic, hydrotropic and thigmotropic. Example : Roots usually show positive geotropic movement, i.e. they grow in the direction of the gravity.

In fact, potatoes are one of the few vegetable crops that can tolerate and thrive in more acidic soils — soils in the 4.8 to 6.0 pH range. Potatoes may not do well in soils with a pH higher than 7, because if the pH level is high, many of the nutrients that potatoes require to grow will not be available.

Kajal Verma 3 years, 4 months ago

see that the different parts of our body have specific functions. Our mouth waters when we see the food welke our meaning to. Our heart's beat without our thinking about it. In fact, we cannot coomtral these actions raily by king about them even if we want to Sa in between the simple reflex actions like change in the size of the pupil, and thought out actions such as moving a chair, there is another set of muscle movemetes over which we do not have any sking control. Many of these involuntary actio are-controlled by the mid-brain and hind-brain. All these involuntary com including blood pressure, salivation and vomiting are controlled by the medulla in the hind-brain. Think about activities like walking in a straight line, riding a bicycle, picking up a pencil. These are possible due to a part of the hind bin called the cerebellus. It is responsible for the precision of voluntary actions and maintaining the posture and balance if the body Imagine what would happen if each of these events failed to take place if we were not thinking about it Answer the following questions: Spinal Cost and ly the part of the nervous system which control the reflex action, Does flex action involve all parts of the voluntary nervous system? the part of the automic nervous system which control involuntary actions Being of heart muscles, which type of actions is this?
