The molecules of air and other fine particles in the atmosphere have smaller size than the wavelength of visible light. These are more effective in scattering light of shorter wavelengths at the blue end than light of longer wavelengths at the red end. The red light has a wavelength about 1.8 times greater than blue light. Thus, when sunlight passes through the atmosphere, the fine particles in air scatter the blue colour (shorter wavelengths) more strongly than red. The scattered blue light enters our eyes.

Efflorescence is the spontaneous loss of water by a hydrated salt, which occurs when the aqueous vapor pressure of the hydrate is greater than the partial pressure of the water vapour in the air.
This is the property of salts.
Ex: Glauber's salt- Na₂SO₄.10H₂O, Epsom salt - MgSO₄.7H₂O

- No fixed position could be assigned to hydrogen in the Periodic Table.
- Isotopes discovered long after Mendeléev periodic classification of
elements imparted a challenge to Mendeleev’s Periodic Law. - The atomic masses of elements did not increase in a steady manner while going from one element to other which made it difficult to predict the number of elements that could be discovered between two elements.

The thermite reaction is the reaction of metal oxide with the aluminium. The aluminium acts as a reducing agent and the reaction is highly exothermic and hence called a thermite reaction.
The aluminium reduces the oxide of another metal, most of the times, it is iron oxide (FeO) because aluminium is highly reactive. The reaction involved can be shown as:
Fe2O3 + 2Al → 2Fe + Al2O3

The reproductive method in which new plants are produced asexually from roots, stems or leaves of the parent plant. Example - Buds on leaf of Bryophyllum. (2) Respiration is usually anaerobic in the absence of oxygen that provide energy for metabolic activity.
(3) Light imparts an important role in seed germination as it initiate the metabolic activities.
(4) Mobilization of reserves enhance the growth regulators during seed germination. Last step involves the development of embryo axis into seedling.

If the zinc coating is broken, the galvanized object remains protected against rusting because zinc is more reactive than iron and hence can be easily oxidized. Thus when zinc layer breaks down, the zinc continues to react and get oxidized. Hence iron object is protected.
