The conditions required to obtain permanent electromagnet when a current carrying solenoid is used are:

● The rod inside solenoid should be made of a magnetic material like steel, soft iron etc. This type of material can retain the magnetic properties for a long time after magnetization.

● Direct current should be used for solenoid.

● The turns should be closely packed and large in number for producing a uniform strong magnetic field

If we put a soft metal or any metal in place of solenoid and do copper coiling and when we pass current through it. It would become a permanent magnet

Two important limitations of dobreiner tridas are:
All known elements could not be classified into groups of triads on the basis of their properties .
Not all groups obeyed the Law of Triads. For example, nitrogen family does not obey the Law of Triads.

Limitations of Octaves:
(i) This law was applicable to the classification of elements up to calcium only. After calcium, every eighth element did not possess the properties similar to that of the first element.
(ii) Newlands assumed that only 56 elements existed in nature and no more elements would be discovered in the future.
(iii) In order to fit elements into his table, Newlands put even two elements together in one slot and that too in the column of unlike elements having very different properties. For example, the two elements cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni) were put together in just one slot, and that too in the column of elements like fluorine, chlorine and bromine which have very different properties from these elements.

Limitations of Mendeléev’s classification

  • No fixed position could be assigned to hydrogen in the Periodic Table.
  • Isotopes discovered long after Mendeléev periodic classification of
elements imparted a challenge to Mendeleev’s Periodic Law.
  • The atomic masses of elements did not increase in a steady manner while going from one element to other which made it difficult to predict the number of elements that could be discovered between two elements.

It is neither acidic nor basic. It is almost neutral. Its ph is almost 7. Whereas HCL is acidic because it conducts ions (electricity) in its acidic environment.

Also add the relation of scatter with wavelength Wave length is inversely proportional with scattering

Rajput Vishakha 5 years, 11 months ago

The molecules of air and other fine particles in the atmosphere have size smaller than the wavelength of visible light. These are more effective in scatterting light of shorter wavelengths at the blue end than light of longer wavelengths at the red end. The red light has a wavelength about 1.8 times greater than blue light. Thus, when sunlight passes through the atmosphere, the fine particles in air scatter the blue colour more strongly than red. The scattered blue light enters our eyes, If the earth had no atmosphere, there would not have been any scattering. Then, the sky would have looked dark. The sky appears dark to passengers flying at very high altitudes, as scattering is not prominent at such heights.

K Shana 5 years, 11 months ago

Sky appears blue because blue has the shorter wavelength and so it scatters most in the sky which makes sky appear blue in colour
