The human eye is a spherical structure which fits in the eye socket in the skull bone. There are following main parts in the human eye.
Pupil: Pupil is the round black spot in front of eye. It regulates the amount of light entering the eyes. Pupil works like aperture of a camera. In case of dim light pupil dilate to allow more light to enter the eyes. In case of strong light pupil constrict allowing less light to enter.
Irish: Irish is made of muscles. They control the size of opening of pupil.
<div class="col-lg-8 col-6">Lens: Lens lies just behind the pupil. Lens becomes thin to increase its focal length. This enables us to see distant objects clearly. To focus on nearer objects, lens becomes thick to decrease its focal length. But there is a limit. The minimum distance of clear vision is 25 cm. Below this distance, we cannot see things clearly.
Retina: Retina works like a screen or camera film. Retina is full of light and colour sensitive cells. These cells, upon receiving image send electrical signals to the brain, which processes these information to make a mental image of what we see. The photoreceptor cells in the eye are of two types, viz. rod cells and cone cells. The rod cells are sensitive to dim light. The cone cells are sensitive to bright light and colour.

i) Regeneration is a type of asexual propagation of an organism.
ii) In this phenomenon, if a part of the organism is cut out from its body, then that part and the remaining body of the organism is able to grow into 2 new whole organisms.
iii) For example, Planaria is a type of organism that is capable of regeneration. When a planaria is cut into pieces, each piece is able to regenerate and grow into a complete new organism.

The various parts of the human eye and their respective functions include:
- Cornea – It helps the light to enter the eyes coming through various objects.
- Iris – It controls the amount of light entering in to the eyes.
- Pupil – It is a hole in middle of iris which adjusts its opening to allow the required amount of light for clearing purpose.
- Ciliary muscles- The focal length of the eyes is changed by the action of ciliary muscles. The ciliary muscles can change the thickness of the soft and flexible eyes lens and hence the focal length which, in turn, changes the converging power of the eyes.
- Eye-lens – It forms the real image of the object on the retina.
- Retina – It is a screen on which the image is formed.
- Optic nerve – These nerves transfers the formed image to the brain.
Working of the eye:-The light coming from the object kept in front of us enter through the cornea of the eyes, pass through the pupil of the eyes and fall on the eye lens. The eyes lens is convex lens, so it converge the light rays and produces a real and inverted image of the object on the retina. The image formed on the retina is conveyed to the brain by the optic nerve and gives rise to the sensation of vision.
