A solenoid is a coil of wire wound on a cylinder, that has a length that is large compared with its radius. A solenoid is a long, thin loop of wire, often wrapped around a metallic core, which produces a magnetic field when an electric current is passed through it.
An electromagnet is a magnet that runs on electricity. Unlike a permanent magnet, the strength of an electromagnet can easily be changed by changing the amount of electric current that flows through it. The poles of an electromagnet can even be reversed by reversing the flow of electricity.

The bending or movement of a part of plant in response to the external stimulus is called tropism or tropical movement. It is of following types :
- Phototropism: It is a response to light. It may be towards light (positive) or away from the light (negative).
- Geotropism: It is a response to gravity-. It may be towards stimulus (positive) and away from the stimulus (negative).
- Chemotropism: Response to chemicals. It may be positive or negative.
- Hydrotro pism: Response to water. It may be positive or negative.

Urine formation:
The dirty blood containing waste like urea enters the glomerulus which filters the blood. During filtration, the substance like glucose, amino acids, salts, water, urea etc present in the blood pass into Bowman's capsule and then enter the tubule of nephron. When the filtrate containing useful substances as well as the waste substances passes through the tubule, the useful substances like glucose, amino acids, most salts and water are reabsorbed into the blood through blood capillaries surrounding the tubule. Only the waste substances like urea, some unwanted salts and excess water remains behind in the tubule. This yellowish liquid is called urine.

The current will flow more easily through a thick wire than through a thin wire of the same material when connected to the same source. This is due to the fact that the resistance of a wire is inversly proportional to the square of its diameter. A thick wire has a greater diameter and hence lesser resistance making the current to flow through it more easily. On the other hand, a thin wire has smaller diameter and hence greater resistance to the flow of current through it.

The small intestine has millions of tiny finger-like projections called villi. These villi increase the surface area for more efficient food absorption. Within these villi, are present numerous blood vessels which absorb the digested food and carry it to the blood stream. It is hence from the blood stream, the absorbed food is delivered to each and every cell of the body.

Photosynthesis and respiration are two different processes.
Photosynthesis takes place in light which is available only during the daytime. In this process, plants take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen. However, at night, in the absence of sunlight, photosynthesis does not occur. Hence, there is no release of oxygen during night.
Respiration is a continuous process which takes place during the day and also at night. In this process, plants take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide. Hence, there is a continuous release of carbon dioxide during the day time and night time. However, during daytime, the waste carbon dioxide released during respiration is utilised by the plants for photosynthesis.
As a result, it appears as if plants give out oxygen only during the day and carbon dioxide during night. However, respiration occurs continuously day in and day out.

Cellulose forms the largest part of the herbivore’s food. Digestion of cellulose takes a longer time, because the enzymes are produced by the ruminant bacteria that live in the gut of the herbivore. Longer small intestine ensures that the food stays for a longer duration and proper digestion is possible. In the case of carnivores, cellulose is not present in the diet, thus the length of small intestine is less.
