- Malleability: Metals have the ability to withstand high tensile strength and can be made into thin sheets. This property of metals is called malleability.
- Ductility: Metals can also be drawn into thin wires. The ability of metals to be drawn into wires is called ductility. Example: Gold and silver are the most ductile metals. Gold may be beaten into leaves so thin that it takes two hundred and ninety thousand to make one inch in thickness, or it can be drawn into a wire so fine that an ounce weight would extend a distance of fifty miles.

Most plants absorb nitrogen in the form of nitrates, nitrites and urea. They cannot use up atmospheric nitrogen as it is un-reactive. This nitrogen needs to be converted into absorbable forms by certain nitrogen-fixing bacteria so that they can be taken up by plants.

(i)Plant hormones are simple organic substances and animal hormones are complex organic substances.
(ii)Plant hormones are transported through xylem, phloem or by diffusion and animal hormones are transported in the blood.
(iii)No specific organs are involved in the synthesis of the plant hormones, whereas animal hormones are always synthesized in endocrine glands.
