SOAPS are Na or K salts of a long chain carboxylic acid while DETERGENTS are Na salts of long chain benzene sulphonic acid or alkyl hydrogensulphates. Due to the presence of Ca and Mg ions present in it, it does not form lather instead forms scum. Detergents are non biogegradable. They make the water bodies dirty and cause harm to the marine organisms

Translocation is the process of transfering food to different parts of the plant from leaves which makes food for plants . It occurs becoz of diffence in pressure and due to suction it get transported to low pressure area of plant which needs food from high pressure area which is leaf for balancing pressure

The smell of the bleaching powder is strongly chlorine because they can contain the chlorine gas . It can not dissolve in water because in the preparation of the bleaching powder the use of the calcium . When the bleaching powder can under goes in the water then the calcium can react with the water to form the slacked lime which is commonly known as calcium hydroxide
