| Basis | Acid | Base |

(a) Given:For electric bulb:
Voltage = 220 V
Resistance = 1200 Ω
Solution:
According to Ohm's law, the current is ratio of voltage and resistance, hence, can be written as:
{tex}I=\frac{V}{R}{/tex}
Plug the given values in the above formula:
{tex}I=\frac{220 \ V}{1200 \ \Omega}=0.183 \ Ampere{/tex}
(b) Given:
For electric heater coil:
Voltage = 220 V
Resistance = 100 Ω
Solution:
According to Ohm's law, the current is ratio of voltage and resistance hence can be written as:
{tex}I=\frac{V}{R}{/tex}
Plug the given values in the formula:
{tex}I=\frac{220 \ \mathrm{V}}{100 \ \Omega}=2.20 \ Ampere{/tex}

- It is used in torches.
- They are used in headlights of vehicles to send parallel rays to infinity , in shaving mirror to get an enlarged image of the face and also by dentists to see a bigger image of the tooth / teeth
