The skeletal system functions as the basic framework of a body and the entire body are built around the hard framework of Skeleton. It is the combination of all the bones and tissues associated with cartilages and joints. Almost all the rigid or solid parts of the body are the main components of the skeletal system. Joints play an important role in the skeletal system as it helps in permitting the different types of movements at different locations. If the skeleton were without joints, then there would be no sign of the movements in the human body.

Skeletal System Anatomy

This skeletal system can be divided into the axial and appendicular systems. In an adult body, it is mainly composed of 206 individual bones which are organized into two main divisions:

  • Axial skeleton
  • Appendicular skeleton.

Matter is a substance that has inertia and occupies physical space. According to modern physics, matter consists of various types of particles, each with mass and size. The most familiar examples of material particles are the electron, the proton and the neutron. Combinations of these particles form atoms.

  • Balancing the Chemical Equations:
  1. In  a  balanced  chemical  equation,  the  total  number  of  atoms of  each element of the  reactants on the left hand side of the equation is equal to the number of atoms of the products formed on the right hand side of the equation.
  2. The total mass of the reactants is equal to the total mass of the products or the number of atoms of each element before the reaction and after the reaction is equal.

When an object immersed wholley or partially in a liquid it displaced some liquid and the displaced liquid exert and upward force is called buoyant force and this property of liquid is called buoyancy when the buoyant force = weight of displaced liquid =apparant loss in weight

Tarushi Jaipuria 5 years, 8 months ago

Archimedes principle state that the substance which is immersed partially or fully in water experienced a force i.e.. BOUYONT FORCE which is equal to the amount of water displaced by the substance. In short , Archimedes Principle = Bouyont force acted on substance = amount of water displaced by substance

Lucifer ? Morningstar? 5 years, 8 months ago

Archimedes' principle, physical law of buoyancy stating that any body submerged in fluid at rest is acted upon by an upward force.

Drawback of Dobereiner's triads:

  1. Dobereiner could identify only three triads. He was not able to prepare triads of all the known elements
  2. All the known elements could not be arranged in the form of triads.
  3. For very low mass or for very high mass elements, the law was not holding good. Take the example of F, Cl, Br. Atomic mass of Cl is not an arithmetic mean of atomic masses of F and Br.

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 8 months ago

Law of Triads:

When elements are arranged in the order of their increasing atomic masses, the atomic mass of the middle element was approximately the mean of the atomic masses of the other two elements.

For example: Consider the triad of lithium, sodium and potassium.  The atomic mass of sodium is the mean of the atomic masses of lithium and potassium.

•The number of elements discovered has increased, making it difficult to remember the behavior and properties of these elements. •Hence it is important to classify elements according to their properties. It is also necessary to understand how they form the compounds. •Grouping of elements into different classes is called periodic classification of elements. •This method is requires arranging the elements that are alike and separating the elements that are unlike. •To compare the properties of elements. It helps us understand how different elements form different compounds.

The molecules of air and other fine particles in the atmosphere have a size smaller than the wavelength of visible light. Thus, they are more effective in scattering light of shorter wavelengths at the blue end than light of longer wavelengths at the red end.
Red light has a wavelength greater than blue light. Thus, when sunlight passes through the atmosphere, the fine particles in air scatter blue colour (shorter wavelengths) more strongly than red. The scattered blue light enters our eyes.
If the Earth had no atmosphere, then there would not have been any scattering. The sky would have looked dark. Similarly, the sky appears dark to aeroplane passengers flying at very high altitudes, as scattering is not prominent at such heights.
