Elements having very high ionisation energies are incapable of transferring electrons and elements having very low electron affinity cannot take up electrons. The atoms of such elements tend to share their electrons with the atoms of other elements or with other atoms of the same element in a way that both the atoms obtain octet configuration in their respective valence shell and thus achieve stability. Such association through sharing of electron pairs among different or same kinds is known as Covalent Bond.

The duodenum is the first part of the small intestine. It is located between the stomach and the middle part of the small intestine, or the jejunum. The food mixed with the acids in the stomach moves into the duodenum. Here, the food gets mixed with bile from the gall bladder and digestive juices from the pancreas.

Cellular respiration is a set of metabolic reactions occurring inside the cells to convert biochemical energy obtained from the food into a chemical compound called adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Metabolism refers to a set of chemical reactions carried out for maintaining the living state of the cells in an organism. These can be divided into two categories:
- Catabolism – the process of breaking molecules to obtain energy.
- Anabolism – the process of synthesizing all compounds required by the cells.

Starching your clothes adds crispness and structure, providing body to cotton and linen items. It also creates a higher resistance to wrinkling and soiling. Using starch will also ease ironing. Durable synthetics can be “starched,” but should not be be treated with grocery spray starch.

A word equation describes a chemical reaction using the names of chemicals only. For instance, the word equation for respiration is:
glucose + oxygen => carbon dioxide + water
A formula equation is a visual representation of a reaction using chemical formulas. A chemical formula is an expression that states the number and types of atoms that make up any given molecule using the symbols for the elements and sub-scripted numbers.
Chemical equation uses chemical formulae instead of names and is balanced. An example of this would be methane burning in oxygen:
CH4 + 2O2 →CO2 + 2H2O

Skeletal equation are the equation which represents the reactants and the products involved but which is not balanced in terms of stoichiometric coefficient. In simple words, skeletal chemical equation is an unbalanced chemical equation.
The electrolytic decomposition reaction of water is,
H2O → H2 + O2 → Skeletal
2H2O → 2H2 + O2 → balanced

Gustatory receptors are present on the papillae of the tongue and are used for detecting taste. Olfactory receptors are present on the olfactory epithelium of the nasal cavity. These are used in the detection of various smells. Sensory signals are sent by these receptors to the brain by sensory nerves.

During sunrise/sunset it appears red as light has to travel a long distance from the sun through the atmosphere to reach the eye of the observer. Red light is scattered least due to its long wavelength than blue light hence it appears red to the observer. But at noon it appears white as the sun is directly over our head and light rays have to travel short distances without much scattering of any particular the colour of light. Hence it appears white.

When lead(II) nitrate is heated, it decomposes into lead (II) oxide, nitrogen dioxide and oxygen. The balanced chemical equation for this reaction is 2 Pb(NO3)2 (s) produces 2 PbO (s) + 4NO2 + O2 (g). Since, the valency of lead is +2 it will need two nitrate radical. Lead nitrate is formed by reacting lead with nitric acid, so by displacement reaction it forms, lead nitrate ,water and nitrigon di oxide. When lead nitrate is heated, it due to thermal decomposition gives out metal oxide, oxygen and nitrogen dioxide.

Because it contains ions in water which moves to the opposite electrodes when electricity is passed through the solution. this is possible in molten state since the electrostatic forces of attraction between the oppositely charged ions are overcome due to the heat.
