Partial Equation Method

Equations are balanced by partial equation method when equations contain many reactants and products and hence cannot be balanced by the hit and trial method.

In this method the overall reaction is assumed to take place through two or more simpler reactions, which can be represented by partial equations.

The steps involved are:

  1. The given chemical equation is split into two or more partial equations.
  2. Each partial equation is separately balanced by the hit and trial method.
  3. These balanced partial equations are multiplied with suitable coefficients in order to exactly cancel out those common substances which do not appear in the overall chemical equations.
  4. The balanced partial equations so obtained, are added to arrive at the balanced chemical equation.

Function of medulla: Medulla directly controls many involuntary responses like sneezing and blinking of eye. It controls our overall major motor functions, or body movement. It carries out blood vessel dilation to increase or decrease oxygen flow and respond to heart function. Other functions include digestion, swallowing and vomiting to get rid of bacteria or pathogens that could harm us.
Function of cerebellum: The cerebellum receives information from the sensory systems, the spinal cord and other parts of the brain and regulates the motor movements. It controls the voluntary movements such as posture, balance, coordination, and speech to maintain a smooth and balanced muscular activity.

1.it occurs in isolation.

2.it remains connected with the epithelium that produces it.

2.it separates from the epithelium that forms it.

3.it does not pour its secretion into lymph or blood.

3.it pours its secretion into lymph or venous blood.

4.The secretion is poured directly over the target.

5.A duct is often present, thus duct gland.

6.The secretion is enzymatic, lubricant or excretory.

4.The secretion is transported to the target through blood.

5.A duct is absent. Hence ductless gland.

6.The secretion contains hormones.

The method of representing a chemical reaction with the help of symbols and formulae of substances involved in it is called a chemical equation.

Example: Zinc metal reacts with dilute sulphuric acid to form zinc sulphate and hydrogen gas.

This equation is written as: Zn + H2SO→ZnSO4 + H2

  • Writing Chemical Equations:
  1. In  a  chemical  reaction,  the  reactants  are  written  on the  left  hand  side  and  the  products  on  the  right hand side of the equation.
  2. An arrow (→) pointing towards the products is inserted between the reactants and the products. It also represents the direction of the reaction.
  3. A single arrow (→) indicates the direction in which the reaction proceeds.
  4. A double arrow (⥮) indicates a reversible reaction, i.e. the products recombine to form the reactants.
  5. A plus sign (+) is inserted between two or more reactants or products formed.
  6. If reactions are carried out under specific conditions of temperature, pressure, catalyst etc., then these conditions are mentioned on the arrow.

The  chemical  equation  can  be  made  more  informative  by  mentioning  the  physical  states  of  the reactants and products.

  1. If gas is liberated as a product then it is represented by an arrow pointing upwards (↑).
  2. If the product formed is in the form of a precipitate, it is represented by an arrow pointing downwards (↓).

Metals which form an amphoteric oxide are zinc, tin, lead, aluminium and beryllium. e.g., Zinc and aluminium forms zinc oxide (ZnO) and aluminium oxide (Al2O3) respectively.
Amphoteric oxides react with acids as well as bases. Thus ZnO will react with HCl as  well as with NaOH.
ZnO+2HCl→ZnCl2+H2O
ZnO+2NaOH→Na2ZnO2 + H2O

First of all, we need to take a potted plant with variegated leaves like croton and keep it a dark region, away from sunlight for 3 days. This will halt photosynthesis and destarch the plant.

Next keep this plant in sunlight for 6-8 hours. The plant can now carry out photosynthesis and produce starch.

Next, luck a leaf from this plant and mark the green areas in it and trace them on a sheet of paper. Mark the regions as green and yellow. . As can be deduced, the green areas contain chlorophyll which is absent in the yellow areas.

Next immerse the leaf in boiling alcohol so as to decolourise it. he leaf slowly loses its green color, which goes into the alcohol.Dip this decolorized leaf in iodine solution using a pair of forceps.   Now remove the leaf from iodine solution and rinse it in distilled water. Remove the leaf from distilled water and keep it on a petri dish. Two color regions are visible in the leaf. They are reddish brown and blue-black.Compare this leaf with the previously traced drawing on the graph paper. een parts of the tracing and blue-black regions of the leaf coincide. Similarly the reddish brown regions in the leaf coincide with the yellow areas on the traced figure. we can conclude that the earlier green parts of the leaf turn blue-black whereas the yellow parts have become reddish brown. Green parts of the leaf possess chlorophyll; hence they carry out photosynthesis and produce starch, which turns blue-black with iodine. The yellow regions of the leaf cannot carry out photosynthesis since they lack chlorophyll and hence no starch is produced here.

Vestigial organs are the organs that have no apparent function and are considered to be the residual parts from the past ancestors.

ollowing are a few examples of vestigial organs:

Sinuses

Human cheekbones hold the maxillary sinuses. The face consists of pockets of air called sinuses. They are lined by a thin layer of mucosa. It has no significant use but infection can lead to sinusitis.

Appendix

It is one of the most commonly known vestigial organs. This finger-like tube closed at one end arises from the vermiform process. In prime ancestors, the appendix is believed to have brought about the digestion of cellulose. Today, scientists predict that the appendix may play a role in digestion by bacteria.

Coccyx

It forms the last part of the vertebral column, the residue of the lost tail and is often termed as the tailbone. It is observed during human embryogenesis. This formed as the centrepiece of the ‘theory of recapitulation’.

Wisdom Tooth

Forms the third set of molars in our buccal cavity. They may have been significant in the past(chewing rough and raw food) but in modern times, as they are inaccessible and remote, it causes pain and infection.

Don't fall for the magical tips you hear about everywhere. It is honest and hard work which counts at the end of the day. People out there who are giving tips have themselves learned them after completing the examination. Most of it are eyewash. As for the preparation of science, you should begin by charting out a comprehensive plan. Get to know about the chapters in the syllabus and the average marks assigned to each of them. Read from the beginning. Literally. First page first, first line first and so on. Try to understand the subject matter and don't rush through the text. Use highlighter to mark the important point. Discuss with the teachers in topics you are facing difficulty. Once you complete a chapter, don't leave it to move ahead. Revise it regularly using your notes along with reading next chapters. If you are not good at numericals, get a coaching. It would certainly help you to learn the fundamentals. At last, have trust in Almighty GOD and do the best you can. I hope and pray for your success. May you come off with flying colours. Aameen

Only in artificial megnet can arise the attraction noy natural

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 6 months ago

When you rub a piece of iron along a magnet, the north-seeking poles of the atoms in the iron line up in the same direction. The force generated by the aligned atoms creates a magnetic field. Magnetic force obeys an inverse square law with distance. ... If the distance between two magnets is doubled the magnetic force between them will fall to a quarter of the initial value. (F/4) If the distance between two magnets is halved the magnetic force between them will increase to four times the initial value.

The tidal force acting on an astronomical body, such as the Earth, is directly proportional to the diameter of that astronomical body and inversely proportional to the cube of the distance from another body producing a gravitational attraction, such as the Moon or the Sun.

The formula for the force of attraction is articulated as,

G is the gravitational constant (6.67 × 10-11 Nm2/kg2), the mass of object 1 is m1 , the mass of object 2 is m2 , the distance between two objects is d.

A hypothesis is a limited explanation of a phenomenon; a scientific theory is an in-depth explanation of the observed phenomenon. A law is a statement about an observed phenomenon or a unifying concept, according to Kennesaw State University. A theory does not change into a scientific law with the accumulation of new or better evidence. A theory will always remain a theory; a law will always remain a law. Both theories and laws could potentially be falsified by countervailing evidence. Theories and laws are also distinct from hypotheses.
