Because ozone has reflect the harmful gas which comes from sun.

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 5 months ago

The ozone layer acts as a filter for the shorter wavelength and highly hazardous ultraviolet radiation (UVR) from the sun, protecting life on Earth from its potentially harmful effects. When the sky is clear, there is an inverse relationship between stratospheric ozone and solar UVR measured at the Earth's surface. Depending on where ozone resides, it can protect or harm life on Earth. Most ozone resides in the stratosphere (a layer of the atmosphere between 10 and 40 km above us), where it acts as a shield to protect Earth's surface from the sun's harmful ultraviolet radiation.

If mucus will not be secreted by gastric gland then HCL will damage the stomach, it can cause stomach pain..

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 5 months ago

The alkaline mucous layer protects epithelial cells of stomach wall against the acids and enzymes in the gastric lumen.

If mucus is not secreted by the gastric glands, then the hydrochloric acid secreted by the glands will digest or corrode the walls of the stomach.

cobalt  27 and nickel 28

According to modern periodic law, elements are arranged in the order of increasing atomic numbers. The atomic number of cobalt is 27 and that of nickel is 28. So, in the modern periodic table, cobalt with lower atomic number (27) comes first and nickel with higher atomic number (28) comes later, even if their atomic masses are in the wrong order. In this way, the positions of cobalt and nickel were resolved in the modern periodic table.

The heart receives deoxygenated blood from different parts of the body, and it pumps this blood to the lungs. The oxygenated blood from the lungs returns to the heart, which is pumped again into different parts of the body by the heart. Thus, the blood passes twice through the heart making one complete round through the body. This is called double circulation.

1. Definition

The first point of difference between anabolism and catabolism is their definition. Anabolism is the metabolic process which transforms simple substances into complex molecules. On the other hand, catabolism is where complex and large molecules are broken down into small ones.

2. Role in Metabolism

Catabolism is the destructive phase of metabolism, whereas anabolism is the constructive one.

3. Energy and Heat Requirement

Another significant difference between metabolism catabolism and anabolism is the heat and energy requirements. Anabolism is an endergonic reaction. It means this reaction requires ATP energy as it absorbs heat.

However, catabolism being an exergonic reaction releases ATP energy and does not require an

Area of cross-section of the wire, A =π (d/2) 2
Diameter= 0.5 mm = 0.0005 m
Resistance, R = 10 Ω
We know that

∴ length of the wire = 122.72m
If the diameter of the wire is doubled, new diameter=2×0.5=1mm=0.001m
Let new resistance be Rʹ

∴ the new resistance is 2.5 Ω

Decrease in resistance = 10 - 2.5

                                  = 7.5 Ω.

Arid soils range from red to brown in colour.

  • They are sandy in texture and saline in nature. In some areas, the salt content is very high and common salt is obtained by evaporating the water.
  • Due to dry climate, high temperature, evaporation is faster and the soil lacks humus and moisture.
  • The lower layers of the soil are occupied by Kankar because of the increasing calcium content downwards.
  • After proper irrigation, these soils become cultivable as has been in the case of western Rajasthan.<button aria-label="like this post" title="like this post">

Hydrogen gas

Hydrogen gas is liberated when an active metal reacts with hydrochloric acid. For testing the presence of hydrogen gas, bring a burning candle near the mouth of the test tube in which the reaction is taking place. If the gas burns with a popping sound, then it can be concluded that it is hydrogen.

2H2(g) + O2(g) → 2H2O(g)

Herbivorous mainly take grass, which composed of cellulose which is a complex sugar so it needs a longer path for digestion that's why herbivores have longer small intestine than Carnivores.

Yogita Ingle 5 years, 5 months ago

Cellulose forms the largest part of the herbivore’s food. Digestion of cellulose takes a longer time, because the enzymes are produced by the ruminant bacteria that live in the gut of the herbivore. Longer small intestine ensures that the food stays for a longer duration and proper digestion is possible. In the case of carnivores, cellulose is not present in the diet, thus the length of small intestine is less.

Magnesium ribbon should be cleaned with sandpaper before burning in the air because of the following reasons : # magnesium very reactive element which rapidly reacts with oxygen in the air to form a white layer of magnesium oxide and this layer will not burn. # To remove the magnesium oxide layer from the ribbon which may prevent or slow down the burning of magnesium ribbon
