Simple organisms are capable of producing new organisms through the process of regeneration. This is possible in simple organisms because the entire body is made up of similar kind of cells in which any part of their body can be formed by growth and development.

In case of the complex organisms have organ system level organization. all the organ systems of their body work together as an interconnected unit.

The tissues in complex organisms cannot regenerate a new individual as they are highly differentiated to perform specialized functions. For example, human skin cannot regenerate into a new individual as it is a highly differentiated tissue performing a designed function.

The I-V graph of metallic conductor is a straight line pass through the origin. They obey Ohm’s Law, having resistance that is independent of current. (Ohmic conductors)

Reason: Resistance in metal is the reduction of the drift velocity of electrons due to collision with the lattice ions. If the temperature of the conductor is kept constant, the magnitude of the vibration of the lattice ions remain the same, and hence it’s resistance would remain the same.

It has polished flat surfaces that refract light. The traditional geometric shape of a prism has a triangular base and two rectangular sides. It is called triangular prism. When light travels from one medium to another medium, it is refracted and enters the new medium at a different angle.

Sorry to say but it is wrong NaHCO³ is formed by the reaction of NaCl, H²O, NH³, CO²

Shivani Pandey 5 years, 3 months ago

Although of no practical value, NaHCO3 may be obtained by the reaction of carbon dioxide with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide: CO2 + NaOH → NaHCO.

Tooth decay simple means that is the distruction of the enemel layer of the teeth

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago

  • Dental Caries or tooth decay is described as the malfunctioning or damage of teeth due to the acids produced by bacterias.
  • These acids attack the enamel of the tooth which eventually leads to the development of a hole in a tooth known as the cavity.
  • This problem is often seen in children, adults, and teenagers. This may lead to infection, serious toothache, or tooth loss as well.

When iron nails are brought near one end of a magnet, the nearer end of piece acquires an opposite polarity by magnetic induction. Since unlike poles attract each other, therefore, iron nails are attracted towards the end of the magnet. Thus, the iron nail first becomes a magnet by induction and then it is attracted.

This is the reasonCarbon dioxide is what gives alcoholic beverages such as beer and champagne their characteristic bubbles and is also responsible for rising bread. As yeast begins to metabolize sugars in bread dough, the carbon dioxide gas is trapped within the gluten strands, creating bubbles and causing a leavening action. In beverages, the carbon dioxide is trapped within the liquid by the pressure of the sealed container. When the container is opened, the pressure is released and the carbon dioxide begins to release via a bubble. Alcohol, the other byproduct of yeast fermentation, is also produced during the bread making process but evaporates as the bread bakes. When making alcoholic beverages, yeast is allowed to ferment for a much longer period of time, causing it to produce more alcohol.

Bases turn red litmus paper blue. Acids give off H+ (Hydrogen) ions in water; bases give off OH- (Hydroxide) ions in water. Acids generally taste sour due to the sour H+ ion; bases taste bitter due to the OH- ion; but they may have other tastes depending on the other part of the molecule.

Ionic compounds are formed by transfer of ions. That's why it conducts electricity

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 3 months ago

Answer: Ionic compounds are formed by transfer of electrons between metals and non metals resulting into cations and anions respectively. They are held by strong electrostatic forces and thus cannot be separated.

But when ionic compounds are dissolved in water, they result into ions due to high dielectric constant of water, thus the production of ions help to carry electrons and thus conduct electricity.

Current and Resistance in series connection of resistors

  • Series connection is a combnation of resistors connected end to end.
  • It forms a linear connection arrangement of all the resistors connected in series.
  • So the amount of current flowing through each resistor is equal to the amount of current flowing through the entire circuit.
  • Thus, in series connection the current remains same across the resistors.
  • The equivalent resistance of such resistors is given by the sum of resistances of all the resistors connected in series.
  • Mathematically,
  • This explains that the resistance of the entire circuit of resistors connected in series will be more than the resistance of the individual resistors.
  • Resistance is the actual resistance to the flow of current through the circuit.
  • Therefore as the equivalent resistance of the resistors connected in series gets added up, the flow of current in a series circuit decreases due to this added resistance.
