Uses and gratifications theory (UGT) is an approach to understanding why and how people actively seek out specific media to satisfy specific needs. UGT is an audience-centered approach to understanding mass communication. Diverging from other media effect theories that question "what does media do to people?", UGT focuses on "what do people do with media?"It postulates that media is a highly available product and the audiences are the consumers of the same product.

Answer:
Q and R
Explanation:
We are given that elements P,Q ,R and S have atomic numbers 11,15,17 and 18.
We have to find reactive non metals in given elements.
We know that atomic number of sodium=11
Therefore, P is sodium.
Sodium is metal not non metal
We know that atomic number of phosphorus,P=15
Therefore, Q is phosphorus.
It is no metal because it is required 3 electrons to complete their octet.
Atomic number of chlorine =17
Therefore, element R is chlorine.
It is non metal it required one electron to complete their octet.
Atomic number of argon=18
Therefore, element S is argon.
It is noble gas because it has full filled configuration .It is non reactive because it does not required any electron to complete their octet.
Hence, Q and R are reactive non metals.

Laws of refraction;-
- The incident ray,the refracted ray and the normal to the refracting surface at the point of incidence lie in the same plane.
- For a given pair of media and for a given colour of light the ration between the sine of angle of incidence to the sine of refraction is a constant.This constant is known as refractive index of the second medium with respect to the first medium.
When a ray of light passes through a glass slab, ∠i,∠r and the normal all lie in the same plane.
When a ray of light passes from one medium to another, here from air to glass or glass to air, the ratio = sini/sinr = constant.

Amoeba is a unicellular animal which follows holozoic mode of nutrition. The cell membrane of amoeba keeps on protruding into pseudopodia. Amoeba surrounds a food particle with pseudopodia and makes a food vacuole. The food vacuole contains the food particle and water. Digestive enzymes are secreted in the food vacuole and digestion takes place. After that, digested food is absorbed from the food vacuole. Finally, the food vacuole moves near the cell membrane and undigested food is expelled out.

Absorbed water from the soil also contains dissolved minerals (nitrates, phosphates, etc.) and hence it is called sap.
The upward movement of water and dissolved mineral salts from roots upwards to the leaves and other aerial parts is called Ascent of Sap. (It is called the sap as it contains many dissolved minerals). This water is conducted upwards to the leaves through xylem. Ascent of sap involves root pressure and transpiration pull.

Hair color is determined by the amount of a pigment called melanin in hair. An abundance of one type of melanin, called eumelanin, gives people black or brown hair. An abundance of another pigment, called pheomelanin, gives people red hair.

Sodium chloride commonly known as salt (although sea salt also contains other chemical salts), is an ionic compound with the chemical formula NaCl, representing a 1:1 ratio of sodium and chloride ions. With molar masses of 22.99 and 35.45 g/mol respectively, 100 g of NaCl contains 39.34 g Na and 60.66 g Cl. Sodium chloride is the salt most responsible for the salinity of seawater and of the extracellular fluid of many multicellular organisms. In its edible form of table salt, it is commonly used as a condiment and food preservative. Large quantities of sodium chloride are used in many industrial processes, and it is a major source of sodium and chlorine compounds used as feedstocks for further chemical syntheses. A second major application of sodium chloride is de-icing of roadways in sub-freezing weather.

When we add egg-shell to nitric acid, the Nitric acid reacts with calcium carbonate (which is present in the egg-shell) to form calcium nitrate, carbon dioxide gas, and water. -The carbon dioxide gas released from this reaction turns lime-water milky.
Nitric Acid reacts with egg shell to form calcium nitrate, carbon dioxide and water.
Equ:
CaCO3 [s] + 2HNO3 [aqu] --------> Ca(NO3)2 [aqu] +CO2 [g] + H2O [l]
Egg shell + Nitric Acid --------> Calcium Nitrate + Carbon dioxide + Water.

The formula for lime water is Ca(OH)2 and the chemical name for lime water is calcium hydroxide. When water is added to lime calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 is formed according to the following reaction.
CaO + H2O → Ca(OH)2
This reaction is strongly exothermic and takes place vigorously with the formation of clouds of steam.

The electrical resistivity of a material is defined as the resistance offered to current flow by a conductor of unit length having unit area of cross section
The unit of ρ is ohm−m(Ωm)
Yogita Ingle 5 years ago
Electrical resistivity is the reciprocal of electrical conductivity. It is the measure of the ability of a material to oppose the flow of current. Materials resist the flow of electric current. Some of the materials are better at conducting electric current than the others.
Resistivity is defined as the electrical resistance of a conductor of unit cross-sectional area and unit length. The resistance of any conductor is directly proportional to the length of the conductor and inversely proportional to the area of cross-section of the conductor.

Battery Source = 12 V
=> V = 12 V
Total Current = 9 A
Total Resistance = R
V = IR
=> 12 = 9R
=> 4 = 3R
=> R = 4/3
R1 & R2 are in Parallel
Hence
1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2
=> 1/(4/3) = 1/4 + 1/R2
=> 3/4 = 1/4 + 1/R2
=> 2/4 = 1/R2
=> 1/2 = 1/R2
=> R2 = 2

The meaning of word ‘Electromagnetic’ is related to the interrelation of electric currents (or fields) and magnetic fields and “Induction” is the process of giving rise to something, which together means the process of generation of an electric current in a closed circuit from magnetic effects, i.e. by changing magnetic fields.
Three factors on which the value of induced current in a coil in presence of a magnet depends upon
(i) the number of turns in a coil circuit.
(ii) the nature of magnet used.
(iii) the speed of motion with which magnet is pushed into (or pulled only) the coil.
Fleming’s right hand rule is used to determine the direction of induced current.
Electric generator is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction.
