Here, d=8 a_5=> a+4d=0 => a+4*8=0 => a+32=0 => a=-32. Therefore,1st term is -32

Let three are in AP are a-d,a,a+d. ATQ- a-d+a+a+d=3 3a=3 a=1 -eq-1 (a-d)*a*(a+d)=8 Put a=1 (1-d)*1*(1+d)=8 (1-d)(1+d)=8 1-d sq.=8 d=+- √7 Hence, 1-√7,1,1+√7

Exercise 3.2 question no. 1(1) Let the number of boys be x And the number of girls be y A/q Total number of student =10 x + y =10-------------(1) If the no. Of girls is 4 more than the boys x+4=y y-x=4--------------(2) On adding (1) and (2) 2y = 14 y =7. Putting value of y in eq. 1,we get, x+y=10 =>x+7=10 therefore x=3

168=2*2*2*7*3 126=2*7*3*3 Therefore, hcf=2*7*3 =42.

Perimeter of right traingle = 60 => hypotenuse+ base + height = 60 => 25 + base + height = 60 => base + height = 35 ........(1) . Now, area of traingle = 1/2 × base × height. From eqn (1) , area of traingle = 1/2 × 35 = 17.5 cm square.
