Beta=1/alpha General form x^2-(sum of zeroes)x+(product of zeroes) (K-1)x^2-(alpha+1/alpha)x+(alpha*1/alpha) Given the eqn, Alpha*1/alpha should be 3 So, x=1/3 (k-1)(1/3)^2-10(1/3)+3 On solving, you get k=4

Standard-Level and Basic-level Question papers shall be based on the same syllabus. However the Standard-Level Mathematics assesses higher Mathematical abilities compared to Basic-Level. Accordingly, the difficulty level of the Mathematics – 'Basic' is less than that of Mathematics-'Standard'.

Shreya Dubey 6 years, 2 months ago

We know that Sn=n/2[a+l] A.p-- 1,3,5,........n a=1,d=3-1=2,l=n Therefore, Sn=n/2[1+n] =n^2+n/2

If in a sequence of terms each term is constant multiple of the preceding term, then the sequence is called a geometric progression.(G.P), whereas the constant multiplier is called the common ratio.

In an A.P, the difference between nth term and (n−1)th< term will be a constant which is known as the common difference of the A.P.

If coordinates of points defined as P(a,b), then

1. The distance of the point P(a,b) from the x-axis is |b| units.

2. The distance of the point P(a,b) from the y-axis is |a| units.

The given point is P(-3,-4).

Here, the x-coordinate is -3 and y-coordinate is -4. It means a=-3 and b=-4. So,

1. The distance of the point P(-3,-4) from the x-axis = |-4| = 4 units.

2. The distance of the point P(-3,-4) from the y-axis is = |-3| = 3 units.

Therefore, the required answer is 4 units.

Let root5 is irrational no. Root5 = a/b Root5 b = a (Root5 b)sq. = asq. 5bsq. = asq. ......(1) bsq. = asq./5 (asq. is divisible by 5) by theorm 1.3 Now, put asq. = 5csq. 5bsq.= 5csq. bsq. = 25csq./5 bsq.= 5csq. Csq.= bsq./5 (bsq. is divisible by 5 ) a and b is divided by 5 but contradiction shows that our assumption is wrong. Since, root5 is irrational no.

√5 is a irrational number √5=rational number √5=P/q SOBS {√5}^2 ={p/q}^2 5=p/q^2 5q= p 5 divides p and 5 divides p^2 Put p= 5r 5q^2=5r^2 q=5r^2 5 divides q and 5 divides q^2 Therefore √5 is a irrational number
