Let the possible root 3+root5 are rational in the form of p by q and q not equal to 0 Root 3+root5=p/q

Kanishka Sree Muthusamy 4 years, 5 months ago

Let as assume on contrary that : √3 + √5  is a rational number.  Then there exists co - prime integers p and q such that   ⇒  √3 is a rational number .  But this contradicts the fact that √3  is  irrational. So, our assumption is wrong. Hence, √3  + √5  is  irrational.

Using Euclid's Division Lemma a=bq+r Where, 0<_ r<b a=72, b=13 72=13×5+7 a=13, b=7 13=7×1+6 a=7, b=6 7=6×1+1 a=6, b=1 6=1×6+0 Therefore, HCF of 72 and 13 is 1.

Shashank Sivaram 4 years, 6 months ago

The HCF (72, 13) by Euclid's algorithm/theorem is: a = bq + r (0<_r<b) 72 = 13 x 5 + 7 (a = 72, b = 13) 13 = 7 x 1 + 6 (a = 13, b = 7) 7 = 6 x 1 + 1 (a = 7, b = 6) 6 = 1 x 6 + 0 (a = 6, b = 1) So, HCF (72, 13) is 1.

No because 6^n= (2^n*3^n) hence there are exist no pair of 2^n*5^n factors.

Step 1: Draw segment AB of length 7.6 cm using a ruler.
Step 2: Draw a ray AC having an acute angle with line AB.
Step 3: Mark 13 equidistant points on ray AC, A1,A2,A3,...,A13
Step 4: Join A13 to B
Step 5: Draw A5P parallel to A13B.
Point P divides AB in the ratio 5:8. Measuring the lengths, we get AP=2.9 cm and PB=4.7 cm.

We know that √2 and -√2 are the zeroes of p(x) Therefore ...... (x - √2) and (x + √2) are the factors of p(x) It means product of factor also a factor = X² - 2 = g(x) Devide p(x) by g(x) We Get - q(x) = 2x² - 3x +1 By using slitting the middle term method ------ q(x) = 2x² - 3x + 1 = 0 = 2x² - 2x -x + 1 = 0 = 2x( x -1) -1 (x-1) = 0 = (2x-1) (x-1) = 0 Other two zeroes are ----- i) (2x-1) =0 = x = ½ ii) (x-1) = 0 x = 1 Hope its help you .........

s = 2/3 - 1/4 = 8 - 3/12 = 5/12.// p = 2/3 * -1/4 = -2/12.// Therefore, p(x) = k (x^2 - sx + p) = k (x^2 - 5/12 x - 2/12) = k (12x^2 - 5x - 2).// According to the relation between zeroes and coefficients in quadratic polynomial, s = -b/a. 5/12 = -(-5)/12 = 5/12// p = c/a. -2/12 = -(2)/12 = -2/12//

Let the quadratic polynomial be =ax²+bx+c also, $ and & are zeroes of given polynomial so, Since, $+&=-b/a =) √2+1+1/√2+1=-b/a =) 2√2=-b/a also, $•&=c/a =) √2+1×1/√2+1=c/a =) 1 =c/a So we get a=1 b=-2√2 C=1 Hence the required polynomial is X²-2√2x+1=0 ans.

Adithya Dev A 4 years, 6 months ago

S = √2 + 1. P = 1/√2 + 1. Therefore, polynomial p(x) = k (x^2 - Sx + P) = k (x^2 - (√2 + 1)x + 1/√2 + 1 = k [(√2 + 1) x^2 - (3 + 2√2) x + 1]//
