Let 3+2√5 be rational 3+2√5 is a rational, 3 is a rational [(3+2√5)-3] is rational [ difference of rational is rational] 2√5 is rational 1/2 *2√5 [product of rational is rational] √5 is rational This contradicts the fact that √5 is irrational. The contradiction arises by assuming that 3+2√5 is rational Hence, 3+2√5 is irrational
